The Fantasy Rage Quit That Made All Our Wallets Scream

gamer burns daughters of khaine 1Do you remember when this hobbyist literally burned his Fantasy army in a fit over Age of Sigmar’s release?  Guess who probably feels dumb now, lol.

Games Workshop just announced that Warhammer: The Old World is coming in a few years’ time, focusing in on the setting and events before Archaon blew up the world. It’s essentially Warhammer Fantasy reworked. But if you remember back in 2015, only about a week after GW “killed off” Fantasy, this hobbyist burned all of his Dark Elf collection. Press “F” to pay respects.

The Rage Quit That Made All Our Wallets Scream

gamer burns daughters of khaine 3Of course, it’s depressing to have so much love put into an army only to hear the parent company say “we’re not supporting it any longer”. Of course that same company, years later, just announced that the game is coming back (sort of). Before we knew about Warhammer: The Old World, we all thought that Warhammer Fantasy was just going to stay in the past…including this hobbyist.

Rather than selling the collection on eBay, he decided to make a burnt offering.

buring a fantasy armyYou have been warned.  From Lord Tremendous on Youtube:

While this video definitely makes a statement, there’s probably not too many hobbyists out there that went as far as burning their entire collection. If you locked your Fantasy models away, you’ll be happy to know that square bases are going to be making a scene once again (eventually).

warhammer fantasy the old worldAre you excited about Warhammer’s old Fantasy scene to be revived? Or are you left with mixed emotions that GW would kill a game only to bring it back?
