The Scum HWK may seem like a small threat but you would be wrong! Come and see what can make this little ship a beast on the tabletop!
The HWK-290 has a bad rap for having an abysmal maneuver dial and 1 primary attack. But this ship is a force multiplier with its support abilities. Torkil Mux is a beast with his ability to choose and enemy ship at range 1-2 that must treat its pilot skill as 0 during a combat phase. This can be deadly to an enemy ship that has a high pilot skill, which will now have to attack after all other ships have already attacked!
Moldy Crow is a staple for the HWK-290 and is a great way to bank a pile of focus tokens during the course of an X-Wing game. This can be a godsend for its attacks and its dice, freeing up your ship to perform other duties. Let’s start by adding 4-LOM.
This assassin droid crew member can select an enemy ship that’s being attacked by the HWK and lock down its evade or focus tokens, all at the cost of an ion token. This can be a great way to make sure that damage gets through without having the enemy cancel your attack by modifying their dice. Since you already received an ion token for using 4-LOM, why not add another with Pulsed Ray Shield from the C-ROC?
Since having multiple ion tokens adds not further drawback, it’s a great way to recover a shield that you lost earlier from your scuffles. Since the HWK only has 1 shield, this is a great defensive upgrade that can keep it in the fight much longer. After performing your ion maneuver, your enemies will be scrambling to get away from Torkil, hopefully causing them to fly right into the teeth of your other fighters!
This i a great way to keep the HWK ticking in the X-Wing meta game. Will you try out the new Pulsed Ray Shield!
