X-wing has had a lot of work done to it in the past few months. However, things are getting shaken up once again with a points overhaul on different ships.

Fantasy Flight Games announced a point-changing update that hit a ton of ships players might have used too much or not enough. We’ve got all the references you might need to see how much cheaper/expensive your list has gotten.

Why The Change?

Welcome to the game’s first points cost update! We will be publishing these updates biannually, in January and July, each time attempting to restore equilibrium to the game’s ever-changing collection of ships, pilots, and upgrades. Because the game is so new, this first one is a doozy.

The game has just gotten its first big point-changing update and FFG announced that they’ll be doing these kinds of updates twice a year. One in January and one in July. With this being the first big update in its type, a lot has been reworked.

Larger ships have had their points reduced by a significant amount, for example. When the second edition of the game rolled around, they were cautious to not have a repeat meta from the first game. Thus, they made the larger ships more expensive and essentially weren’t able to cut it at tournament-level play. However, the larger ships, as well as their upgrades, have gone down.

To make sure players experience an ever-changing game, they have made some of the auto-include ships from the first edition much less of a threat and vice versa.

Intriguingly, some of the worst-performing ships from first edition turned out to be powerhouses now, while other ships were sidelined.

If you’ve got some of the ships that have been collecting dust this edition, it may be time to pull them out and let them stretch their wings! Go into your collection and see what ships might be real heavy-hitters once again!

What do you think about X-Wing’s update? Did you like the game where it was at? Has your list gone up or down in price? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
