Hello again X-Wing dog-fighters! Wave 8 is upon us, and what better time to discuss tactics than right NOW?
This time we will be discussing the new TIE Advanced Prototype, the newest Imperial ship to hit the scene.
This new ship is pure evil. The Inquisitor’s pilot ability treats his primary weapon attacks as always being considered to be range 1. This means that he gets 3 attack dice, and no matter the range , your opponent will not get a range combat bonus. Not even Autothrusters will work against this guy! Also of note is the maneuver dial for the TIE Adv. Prototype. It features only 1 red maneuver and has all green 1 maneuvers. That’s right! The first ship to have a green hard 1 turn! Push the Limit will be so fun on this guy.
While you have Push the Limit, why not add the TIE v/1 title to the Inquisitor. This title card allows him to perform a free evade whenever he acquires a target lock. That’s 3 actions per turn, and plenty of green maneuvers at speed 1 to clear away stress. This ship will definitely be seen out there hunting down the foes of the Empire. For a little extra punch, you can add Proton Rockets for 3 points. He has boost on his action bar, so why not add Autothrusters while we are at it. So far we have:
PS 8 The Inquisitor – Push the Limit + TIE v/1 + Autothrusters + Proton Rockets = 34 points
34 points is not bad for an Ace hunter with 3 actions per turn. This guy will be the new Soontir Fel on the X-Wing scene. You can retire now Baron Fel.
How would you use the awesome power of the Empire and the Inquisitor? Keep flying!
