The newest Scum ship is here and it is super aggressive and mean! If you like to be at Range 1 in your games, this is the ship for you. It’s favorite place, is in your face!
Let’s start with the new daredevil pilots of the “Fang” fighter.
Move over Talonbane Cobra, Fenn Rau is taking over your slot! This ship loves to get into range 1 and live there, on the edge. This ship can throw out a whopping 5 attack dice at range 1 and can roll 4 agility dice at range 1. This is the epitome of a jouster if I ever saw one! The Concord Dawn Protector title works wonders for this ship.
This 1 point title allows you to add one free evade result whenever you are defending. With 4 agility dice at range 1 and a free evade, you can take 5 hits from Whisper on the nose and not even flinch. This ship is going to be a beast!
This ship is the Contracted Scout killer. As if the FAQ wasn’t bad enough for Torpmasters, Old Teroch will be the nail in the coffin. He may choose an enemy ship at range 1 during the combat phase. That ship losses all focus and evade tokens. Also, this would be the perfect ship to hunt Soontir Fel down! Soontir averages at least a focus and evade every turn, sometimes more! Keep Old Teroch close and Sootir will go down fast!
Finally the Scum faction gets a mini Soontir Fel. After Kad Solus performs a red maneuver, assign 2 focus tokens to him. Barring the maneuver dial reveal, this ship could get into some awesome positions with those red maneuvers and have focus tokens for offense and defense!
The first generic pilot is the Concord Dawn Veteran. There is also a PS 1 Zealous Initiate, but he’s pretty much bare bones besides a torpedo slot. The Concord Dawn Veteran has an elite slot, perfect for the brand new Fearlessness upgrade.
This elite upgrade gets you a free hit result to add to your attack roll if you are at range 1 and inside the defender’s firing arc. Pair this with the aforementioned Concord Dawn Protector title and you have a ship with solid offense and defense.
That’s it for the Protectorate Starfighter! This bad boy will be the hot new ship to give the Imperial Defenders something to think about! Can’t wait to see these ships in action.
