Amazing Crimson Fists Last Stand!
Recently I put a call out for awesome painted models, or other cool gaming pictures that you guys have seen or done.
And my email box has become flooded with sightings and submissions 🙂
One of our writers, Volomir, sent me a link to this masterpiece, and I wanted to share it with you all today! -MBG
The Last Stand of the Crimson Fists This is my first diorama, based on the 90s classic illustration by David Gallagher. Made entirely out of plastic Space Marine pieces, heavily transformed and studied to achieve the most resemblance possible to the original concept art, while maintaining an interesting composition in 360 degrees. Took more than 400 hours of work and 8 months hobby dedicated exclusively to it.
The scene won silver on one of the most difficult Diorama categories I’ve ever seen, in the Spanish GD 2010.
Dedicated to my Morsa family (Elías, Irene, Piti and Narnia). You guys made it possible.

Bio: Virginia restless, miniature painter & cat dad. He blames LEGOs for all this, as there was something about those little-colored blocks that started it all. Spikey Bits sprung from Rob staying motivated to hobby on his backlog of projects, while sharing his knowledge with others during the early blogging era.
LEGO maniac and scale model hobbyist in the 80s turned miniature wargamer and trading card player ever since. He’s played every edition of Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy (since 5th Edition), but Titans of all sizes will always be his favorite! It’s even rumored that his hobby vault rivals the Solemnance Galleries, containing rulebooks filled with lore from editions long past, ancient packs of black-bordered Magic Cards, and minatures made of pewter and resin.
