Games Workshop may have been teasing some information about what to expect to see in the near future to their store managers. You’re not going to want to miss this!
The grapevine is abuzz with news about the new edition of 40k, and what the summer may bring for organized play. But first, let’s take a look at the previous article, in case you missed it, where we shared the Key Dates, then we’ll go over the new information.
There’s a lot of things that happen behind the scenes that the consumer usually doesn’t know about.
Well that’s going to change a little today, because these dates are Games Workshop’s confirmed “New Products, Key Activities, Large Promotions, or a combination of all” that they have restricted taking days off for.
- April 1st & 8th. No April Fools jokes here, Games Workshop definitely has something planned for the first 2 weeks in April.
- May 6th & 20th. Still a mystery what is planned for May, could we be looking at another Triumverate? Maybe Chaos?
- June 3rd, 10th, & 17th. With 3 key dates in June this may just be the release of 8th Edition. What fresh hell awaits us?
Notice we’re not seeing any dates in March. Is this because Games Workshop is making plans around Adepticon?
And now, for the latest info passed to us, as of right now this is just a rumor, so don’t forget to add salt.
- There will be new releases for 40k starting in April and Running all the way through May.
- After the new release push is done, the grand finale will be a shop event, which they’ll be getting packs for soon.
- This mystery event will most likely be a campaign of sorts.
- 8th edition is looking like it will be coming out in June time frame, with the new box set (edition?) sometime between then and August 8th.
Games Workshop has not put anything official out yet, so, once again, these are just rumors. If they are true we may be finding out exactly what 8th edition holds for us in just a few short months!
