Star Wars: Battlefront was one of the biggest successes of 2015. This year, Battlefront 2 will be growing that universe even more for eager fans.
EA Games has released the trailer for their new multiplayer game: Star Wars: Battlefront 2. This new game will be available for Xbox One, PC, and Playstation 4 and has a scheduled release date for November 17, 2017.
According to Wikipedia, Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017) ” is the third-most-expensive video game ever developed ($235 million total cost with inflation)”
Battlefront 2 will have 18 locations, 14 heroes, and 39 vehicles to choose from, with only heroes being exclusive to multiplayer. With double the heroes available compared to the first game, and triple the locations and vehicles, the experience will be extremely immersive. Locations include Endor, Hoth, Cardos, Bespin, Yavin 4, and more.
Battlefront 2 introduces class game play with assault, heavy, specialist, and officer classes available. Assault class specializes in medium ranged weapons and explosives (boom), Heavy contains shields and blasters, Specialists lay traps and snipe enemies at a distance (very sneaky), and Officers command the battlefield, deploying offensive turrets.
Playing well earns more battle points, allowing you to call in reinforcements and vehicles. Heroes can be called in to aid as well at points in the game, including Darth Maul, Luke, Han Solo, and much more.
Star fighting brings in the ability to spend battle points and summon your favourite ships from the franchise, or purchase upgrade abilities. The star card system has been rebuilt as well, using them for troopers, vehicles, and as heroes. They can now be found in crates or be upgraded for parts.
Multiplayer has 5 different modes. Blast is up close combat that is very fast paced. Strike involves tactics and gaining objectives through strategic combat. Heroes vs Villains involves battles between iconic members of the franchise. Starfighter Assault is in space, fighting in dogfights high in the atmosphere of various planets. Galactic assault has large-scale warfare in a 20 vs 20 battleground. Single-player is offline play that allows solo play or split-screen co-op play to earn rewards and improve your skills. The single-player game also contains a storyline that bridges the gap between the Return of the Jedi and Force Awakens movies.
