Gunmeister Games has made their Kickstarter-funded, MOBA-inspired game available for pre-order. Resin miniatures are available as well!
Judgement, a MOBA-inspired, miniatures-based game, was successfully funded on Kickstarter some months ago. Now, Gunmeister Games has released the Judgement 2 Player Starter Box for pre-order. Games can be played out in 3v3 and 5v5 skirmish battles. If you are looking for a comparison game, think Arena Rex but with more options and better support. The objective of a skirmish battle is to destroy the enemy’s Effigy. Key resources, Fate and Souls, are used to hasten the destruction of an opponent’s effigy, purchase magical items, execute potent hero powers, and more. The game board is 2ft. in diameter for 3v3s and 3ft. for 5v5 matches.
The Starter Box comes with 2 finely detailed resin miniatures, 4 cardboard standees, the ‘Shadow Plane’ game board, tokens, measuring tools, rule book, and more. Since this is MOBA-inspired, characters will have the own unique play style There are 20 heroes to chose from, each having their own unique range of powers and abilities. They are also broken down into Classes: as Defender, Aggressor, Supporter, Soulgazer, Hybrid, and Familiar.
They also have 54mm high quality resin miniatures to use for the game. More heroes miniatures are planned. However, you can use substitute miniatures in the form of paper dolls. Gunmeister has made the Core Rules, stat cards, character paper dolls, and more available for free on PDF in their aptly-named ‘Print and Play’ section. Istariel – Elf Fire Mage (Aggressor): $54.50
Istariel (lit: Child of Ista) is known as the mistress of the flame.
Her parents named her at birth when they found a mark on her skin that was clearly a burning flame. Named after the most well-known elven mage in history she grew up with an extraordinary expectation weighing on her shoulders. Her tribe sustains their ancient traditions of worship and she was raised to the temple of Forin, in a similar fashion to Ista herself. Though she is undeniably beautiful to look at, her volatile temperament and the burden of expectation drove her to solitude and study from youth.
The result of that isolation was a burning contempt for any who could not match her determination and certainty. Istariel has no time for the demands of others or even for the pleasantries that make society tick, even among the elves she is seen as arrogant and unbending. Typically, this attitude would have resulted in numerous physical conflicts until she bent…or broke, however she couples her contempt with one of the greatest natural talents at controlling flame that has ever been seen on Athien. Unusual among elves, Istariel seems to show no particular dislike for the other races, she treats everyone with equal disdain unless they prove worthy of her interest. Being summoned has exposed her to some of the most driven souls on Athien and she has sparked up relationships among them that none would have predicted.
A potent attacking force from range, Istariel’s manipulation of fire is what sets her apart. Inherent armour shredding makes her the bane of enemies with Resilience. The bonuses she receives, when an enemy is suffering the fire affect, mean that she is a potent ally to other heroes that are able to set enemies on fire (such as Allandir).
All Judgement models are cast using the highest quality resin on the market. Every sculpt includes a themed scenic base and ships with statistics cards.
Thrommel Ironbeard – Dwarf Warrior (Defender): $54.50
Thrommel is a keg. An armour-plated immovable object with a warhammer that stands higher than his own head. Black hair and beard shrouded in heavy helmet, thick muscles and no neck. A will of iron and a heart of gold.
Thrommel was a royal guard from birth, selected by the village elders to enter the training regime that persisted through the long exile, generating some of the greatest dwarven warriors to ever stride Athien. He excelled at training and in the rare actual battles that sprung up across the islands of the spray. By the time he was of age to be chosen for the royal guard he was already a renowned warrior, known for his stubborn unwillingness to let those around him fall to the blows of the enemy. His readiness to put himself in harms way over and over again and steadfast refusal to yield made him an ideal choice to the guard and his age made him an ideal close guard for the young prince of the royal line.
Their relationship began unsteadily, Thrommel found the Prince’s optimistic approach to the world naïve and the Prince in turn found him to be far too pessimistic, reminding him of the older guards of his mother. In time though they developed a deeper bond, recognizing in each other a balance that would serve the royal line well. It was an unexpected boon that their relationship developed into love, granting them an unshakeable trust that made Thrommel the ideal emissary between the Prince and rulers on the mainland.
Thrommel is a clear example of the old dwarven ideals and his dedication to the royal line makes him one of the strongest royalist icons, which makes him loved and despised among mainland dwarves as the divide in their society deepens.
Thrommel is a defender in the true sense of the word, his abilities are focussed around holding the line against any enemy, keeping his allies safely behind him as he blocks the path of those who seek to attack them. Under the right circumstances, his warhammer can dish out astonishing amounts of damage, particularly to those who seek to evade him and strike at softer targets. The nature of his weapon means a parting blow from Thrommel can return even the hardiest opponent to their effigy.
