Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce a special Holiday Preview Wave for upcoming Star Wars: Destiny products! On January 4th, North American Star Wars: Destiny players will have access to limited quantities of Legacies, the Luke Skywalker Starter Set, and the Boba Fett Starter Set. While this special Holiday Preview Wave offers a sneak preview at our upcoming Star Wars: Destiny products, it is important to note that none of these cards will be legal for tournament play until the wide release of these products early in the first quarter of 2018, alongside the official Legacies launch kit.
The Luke Skywalker Starter Set and the Boba Fett Starter Set are the perfect place to start your Star Wars: Destiny collection. Legacies expands on the themes found in the first three sets with new mechanics, card types, and symbols! Yellow characters in Legacies are as crafty as ever. Saw Gererra (Legacies, 49) can discard random cards from your opponent’s hand while dealing indirect damage. You can also target your own hand if there is a high cost card to ensure a large amount of damage is done.
Palpatine, Darth Sidious (Legacies, 4) can discount your events as a Power Action. A Power Action is an ability that can only be used once per round. By letting you play an event from your hand, decreasing its cost by one for every different type of damage you have showing on your dice, Palpatine becomes extremely economical. You may also dive into the military might of the Star Wars galaxy with Legacies‘ Red characters. Few forces in the Empire are as intimidating as Grand Moff Tarkin (Legacies, 12). As a Power Action, Tarkin can remove two of your dice showing the same symbol to deal four indirect damage to an opponent. Indirect damage is a new symbol introduced in Legacies that deals damage to your opponent, and allows them to decide how it is distributed between their characters.
