A Raider For Rebels? Star Wars Armada

The Pelta Assault Ship has gotten some new upgrades to counter the Empire’s squadrons. Will this Rebel ship see a resurgence with these new tech options?

The Assault Pelta has a new purpose in the Rebel fleet. Having a troubled past as a ship to ship combatant, this Pelta has been re-purposed for anti-squadron duty. Its anti-squadron armament of 1 blue and 1 black will come in handy for the new upgrades that we picked for it.

General Draven has lent his leadership skills to the Pelta Assault Ship. While attacking a squadron with Counter or Intel, add 1 die of any color to your attack pool. With the prevalence of Sloane based super squadron lists, the Empire will be at a disadvantage as General Draven’s ship can fire 2 blue and 1 black at each Counter and Intel squadron. This could also easily be 1 blue and 2 black dice, and this next upgrade will benefit those attacks further.

With an abundance of black anti-squadron dice, Flechette Torpedoes can disable enemy squadrons that get caught in the barrage. While attacking a squadron, you may spend 1 black die with a critical icon to toggle its activation slider to the activated side. This can effectively skip a key squadron’s activation for the Empire. Dengar or even Ciena Ree would be perfect targets!

Since the Pelta Assault ship will be focused on enemy squadrons, it can benefit the Rebel fleet as a whole with its Fleet Command upgrades. Intensify Firepower can aid friendly Rebel ships by allowing them to switch one of their attack dice to a side with a hit icon. This can mean the difference by adding that last damage needed to destroy a key Imperial ship; hopefully an Imperial Star Destroyer!
