Space Marines VS. Adeptus Mechanicus Battle Report

space marine wal hor wide

Take a look at two strong, competitive codex armies going head to head in a tournament style game: Adeptus Mechanicus and Ultramarines. Who will come out on top?

The Ultramarines and Adeptus Mechanicus, lead by Juice and Dean respectively, go head to head in a Dawn of War clash, battling over the primary relic objective. The two armies are also looking for kill points, and tertiary mission objectives include linebreaker, slay the warlord and first blood. The Adeptus Mechanicus win the roll off to go first and lead the charge.

admech cawlDean’s Adeptus Mechanicus consists of battalion detachment with five Skitarii Vanguard, six Cataphran Destroyers, five Skitarii Rangers, Belisarius Cawl, Tech-Priest Dominus, five Castellan Robots, and fourteen Electropriests.

Juice’s Ultramarines are being led by Guilliman himself. Their battalion consists of two captains, three squads of scout snipers, three squads of missile launchers, two Interceptors, and the ancient with a banner.

Dean’s turn one pulls two canticles (thanks to Cawl) with reroll ones and shroud. The electropriests advance and destroyers move with Cawl. He enacts his Elimination Volley stratagem, giving the destroyers and robots +1 to hit this turn since they are within 6″ of each other. He ends up killing an entire squad of marines with one set of shots from the destroyers and takes down most of the second squad of missile launchers as well. The Castellan Robots chew through more of the Ultramarines with their massive amount of shots, as well as Cawl giving rerolls to misses.

Juice’s turn one starts with significantly less power than it started. He sets up his flyers in relation to Guilliman to ensure they are twin-linked, then aims to take revenge upon the units that downed his troops. Guilliman’s ability to reroll helps a lot as well, just as Cawl’s did, to chew through the Adeptus Mechanicus. Juice is able to take down the destroyers and one robot, wounding another.

Going into turn two, both sides have taken some heavy hits, but both are still quite able to grab the relic. Who will be victorious in the primary objective? Will either army be wiped completely off the table? To find out, be sure to press play and watch the entire battle report below!
