RUMORS: New Abaddon & 2018 Release Lineup

eternal crusade abaddon

More rumors are floating around that there will be a new Abaddon model and the 2018 release lineup for Warhammer 40k starting this summer with the Orks?

BoLS gave us some clues of what the future could look like after the Knight codex.

Editors Note: We are hearing no such thing from our Formosan Spy Network sources, who are ALL putting the Ork release at a much, much later time than these rumors.

Abaddon Rumor?

The rumors from BoLS say to keep an eye out for an Ork codex after the Knight codex is released. Then there will be Space Wolves, Genestealer Cult, and Ynnari to come out  (in no particular order).  Once the 8th edition Codexes come out, there should be some books on lore advancing the story everyone is in for 8th.

People are saying that when these books come out, there will be new minis to go with them. The first set sounds like it’s going to be Abaddon.

New Model you say?

Things are sounding like all of the Codexes are going to be released and Age of Sigmar 2.0 will be running before these lore books and minis show up. So there’s still time to start a Black Legion army and have them ready for your glorious leader. There have been rumors before about his new model that we’ve covered but could this be something different?

Missed our other posts? This is what we’re talking about:

fake or realThe rumor mill is officially up and running and we’re seeing another rumor about the return of Abaddon. Let’s take a look at the latest rumor about Abaddon and the Bringers of Despair that was spotted.

We had talked about Black Legion, and how I was bummed about losing some of the special units from their supplement.

He said Bringers of Despair are coming back this summer. WS 2, BS 2 Terminators who can tank wounds for Abaddon. He told me there’s more on the way but wasn’t specific.

The latest rumor is stating that the Bringers of Despair will be making their way into 8th edition in the form of Terminators with a WS/BS 2+, and they’ll be able to take wounds for Abaddon. But, given the source, we really recommend adding plenty of salt to this one.

This rumor is hot on the heels of the rumor that Abaddon will be making a return.

Industry insiders report:

“Look for the return of Abaddon and his entourage this year on the heels of the Orks.”

If the rumors are true, it looks like we might be seeing a new model for Abaddon. That’s the only thing we can assume “Look for the return” means because he’s already in the Chaos Space Marines Codex, so it wouldn’t be a return to the rules. But the rumor also stated it will be “on the heels of the Orks”, and, once again, if the rumors are true we’ll be seeing the release of the Orks around June, which would put Abaddon in the July – August time frame.

The Triumvirate

Triumvirate of the Primarch

Now, as for the entourage part… This could mean a couple things. This could mean we’ll be seeing a Black Legion lineup of releases coming, or it could mean we’ll be seeing a new Triumvirate coming out featuring Abaddon and two of his bodyguards, possibly the latest Faeit rumor of the Bringers of Despair.

Either way, we’re really looking forward to finding out more. Make sure you’re checking back in with us for the latest updates, we’ll be putting them out as soon as we get them.

What do you think about the latest Abaddon rumor? Do you think we’ll be seeing a new model alongside a new Bringers of Despair Terminator kit?
