Fantasy Flight Games just previewed Chewbacca for Star Wars Legion. So what could the most loyal Wookie in space be bringing to the game? Let’s find out.

Chewbacca and his Wookie counterparts are going to hit the shelves sometime in the fourth quarter of 2018.
Towering over most other combatants, Chewbacca attacks with the strength of several humans. Absolutely terrifying up close, the four red dice Chewbacca rolls in melee combat make him more than capable of taking on an entire squad of enemy troops on his own.
Chewbacca may be a friendly teddy bear to some. But to the Empire, he can crack some skulls. In close combat, he will be rolling four red dice. The trick will be getting him within arms reach of something. In case you’re not able to, he also has his signature bowcaster which has Impact andPierce.
Loyal Till the End
Just how loyal is Chewbacca? Well with his Guardian 3 ability, he can cancel up to three enemy hits on a nearby friendly unit. He’ll be taking the wounds himself but the more he takes, the angrier he gets. Once he takes four wounds, he’ll be able to charge and make a free attack action on enemy units.
Chewbacca also works great when paired up with names characters like Han Solo, Leia, and Luke Skywalker. He comes with signature cards for each of the pairs.
Chewy and Han have the “closest” bond allowing you to essentially get command cards back to your hand for free.
However, when he’s paired up with luke, the two activate immediately after one another.
Finally, when combining his strength with Leia Organa’s superior planning abilities, both can team up for an impressive display of both Brains and Brawn. Firing three black dice from her Sporting Blaster, Leia Organa already has a powerful ranged attack. But if Chewbacca is in the right position when this card his played, he can add his bowcaster to the attack pool. Better yet, the four dice Chewie contributes to this attack also gain the benefit of Leia Organa’s Sharpshooter 2 ability for a potentially devastating strike.
Chewbacca is just a named powerhouse. Coming with nine wounds and abilities geared towards teamwork, you’ll want to definitely bring another character along. What do you think about Chewbacca in Legion? Will you be picking him up for your rebel forces?
