Wanna win the new Sisters of Battle models? GW just dropped more SoB Announcements for 2019, and you don’t want to miss this!

Sisters of Battle started off 8th edition with barely any rules. The only Sister that was ever played was Celestine for the longest time. However, the Sisters got their beta Codex in Chapter Approved and now we’re starting to see more and more Sororitas on the tabletops worldwide!

Check out the latest word on the Sisters and what we can start to look forward to in 2019:

Sisters of Battle Bits We’ve Seen

Jumping right in, we’ve already gotten preview after preview of Sororitas bits and models dating as far back as 2018 from Warhammer Community:

Yup, plastic Sisters of Battle are on their way. For reals.

We know many of you have been waiting patiently (and impatiently…) for a long time for the Adepta Sororitas, and that for many of you this is more than ‘just’ a new army. So, we’re going to do something we’ve never done before – right up until the release, we’ll be bringing you updates on the Sisters of Battle, sharing images and snippets of info and a whole ton of behind the scenes goodness.

Emperor willing, the Battle Sisters of the Adepta Sororitas will be ready to take the fight to the renegade, the heretic and the unbeliever in 2019.

  • GW is going to make a BIG show of the design, background, and development of this line perhaps in a similar fashion to how they did all the art reveals for Necromunda.
  • From the timetable of rules in Chapter Approved in Dec ’18 then to being put into printed codex form and Sisters giving them “something for next year’s Adepticon” ( I would assume to be previewed like Death Guard were last year). That could put their release around the late summer or early fall of 2019, again similar to the Death Guard preview of 2017.

People initially thought this Sisters model was going to be a part of a special release (like Boxing Day, for example). However, we are well into 2019 and have yet to see her hit the shelves. We know that she was sculpted after some Sororitas art, but if she will be a special character or just an exclusive mini, nobody knows.

After looking at the first of the new generation of Adepta Sororitas at AdeptiCon, today we’re previewing some early images as well as exploring how our miniatures designers have brought this iconic range to life.

Our designers have been pushing the design of the Sisters of Battle further than ever before – while you’ll recognise their classic armour and weapons, look closer and you’ll pick up a wealth of detail we could previously only explore in art, like the reverential engravings on each shell of this heavy bolter:

And, of course, you’ll be getting flamers – lots and lots of flamers. It is, after all, the ideal heretic-purging weapon. Based again on the iconic Sisters of Battle flamer, these have been upgraded with a more ornate muzzle:

Of course, with Sisters of Battle being a part of the Imperium, they are going to have generally the same weapons as their Space Marine counterparts. The bits we’ve seen that are coming exclusively to the faction all have their Sororitas insignia, Inquisitorial markings, and Fleur-de-lis.  There was also a nifty Crossbow that looks a lot like Inquisitor Greyfax’s that was spotted!

Sisters at the LVO

Looking at the latest Sisters model that was previewed at the 2019 LVO, it looks like she may be some kind of special character holding up a banner equivalent. Keep in mind, we have no idea what her points/rules will be…

Really, we don’t know anything past the cosmetics of the model. But keep your eyes peeled because more support is definitely coming.

Battle Sister Bulletin Announced By GW

battle sisters bulletin

Games Workshop announced that they’ll be posting everything to do with Sisters of Battle in a section of their website called the “Battle Sister Bulletin” this will be your one-stop-shop place to find all the latest details on the faction as Games Workshop works to bring us a codex.

Latest Sororitas News

Last time we ran the Big Community Survey, loads of you asked for plastic Sisters of Battle – so this year, we’re giving you some! A selection of lucky fans who participate in this year’s Big Community Survey will win some fabulous prizes. 10 entrants will receive a squad of Battle Sisters, while one lucky winner will be receiving a whole Adepta Sororitas army – yes, the new ones! So, if having the chance to fundamentally shape the future of Warhammer forever isn’t enough, you might even get some free stuff while you’re at it.

Games Workshop also confirmed once again that Sisters of Battle are coming “this year” for sure.

Looking at where we are right now, Sisters of Battle are going to have to keep sitting on their beta codex for a while. We know a codex is in the works and everything “appears” to be on schedule. However, there’s no official date just yet. It’s not all bad news though! Their beta codex is actually strong enough to be allied in with other competitive lists.
