Cypher Lords Warcry Warband Revealed at the ATC
The Cypher Lords are a gloriously weird Warcry warband, quite different from any of their more barbaric kin. Unlike, say, the bloodthirsty Blades of Khorne or the roaming Untamed Beasts, these mysterious cultists hail from a city in the Realm of Light called Nochseed and, to the wider Mortal Realms, seem more or less ordinary – barring perhaps their taste in headgear.
This warband is one that we didn’t expect to see. With an almost-Idoneth feel to the cosmetics of the units, these guys are a part of the latest Warband coming to Warcry.
We’ve seen warbands full of savages that beat people with bone clubs, crazed birdmen, and the “unmade” that wear their faces as belts just to name a few. But these guys choose to fight with elegance and precision.
These fighters, while clean-looking compared to what we’ve seen before, also fight to catch the attention of Archaon and love to cause mayhem wherever they find any other living victims.
The Cypher Lords are the perfect warband for players that like the seductive, almost civilised side of Chaos – the esoteric cults and shadowy gatherings of nobles within cities all across the realms, as opposed to the unwashed, screaming barbarian masses outside them.
This is the first Warband we’ve seen coming from Hysh. Plus while the realm of light might be associated with Sigmar and Teclis, there are still “bad apples” that cause trouble.
It’s important to note that we haven’t gotten a full look at all of the models for the Warband. You can see one fighter on the right wielding some kind of pendulum-spear.
Overall, these are definitely cool models that might fit the bill for someone who’s a fan of Slaanesh. What’s even cooler is that these guys are from the realm of Hysh, and despite sharing a realm with Sigmar, choose to fight for Archaon.
