Ossiarch Bonereapers: Up Next For Halloween

Will it be next week? Interesting clues that one of the most anticipated armies to come to AoS will be on pre-order for Halloween.

GW is doing October right by releasing an all-new chonky Death faction right around Halloween. Take a look at the latest word on the faction that was spotted on Twitter.

Tony gave a clear date, that October 30th would be the day that the new named Kavalos Zandtos unit from the Ossiarch Bonereapers would be talked about. Make sure you mark your calendars and subscribe to the Warhammer TV twitch channel to get ready for whatever may lie ahead.

Remember, we haven’t seen hardly any rules on this faction although we have a pretty good idea on what the full model range will be. There’s really just their endless spells and terrain piece hiding as far as we can tell.

Ossiarch Bonereaper Kits Yet to be Revealed

Coming from a Wargames Factory Exports image potted on War of Sigmar:

war of sigmar exportsOriginally being talked about was the Zone Mortalis terrain boards possibly coming in plastic. We’ve covered all of that in an earlier post. However, looking at the second bracket, it looks like Ossiarch Bonereapers Endless Spells and Scenery has yet to be revealed. Obviously, we know it’s on the way now as it was on an export manifest. What it comes down to is laying our eyes on the kits themselves.

Faction Terrain Piece: Bone-tithe Nexus

It looks like there might have also been the datasheet for the Ossiarch Bonereapers’ terrain piece uncovered earlier. Being called the Bone-tithe Nexus, it looks like it’ll be a four-headed statue made of stone and bone with piles of skeletal remains laying on its steps.

While it’s in Spanish, some have taken to the internet to translate what it says. It looks like it’ll have four different effects in-game being:

  • Punishment of Lethargy (Castigo de Letargo): Choose a unit wholly within 18″ and fully visible. Roll a die, on a 4+ that unit cannot run until your next hero phase, in addition, they may only roll 1D6 to charge instead of 2D6 until your next hero phase.
  • Punishment of Death (Castigo de Muerte): Deal 1 mortal wound on a 2+ to an enemy unit within 36″.
  • Punishment of Ignorance (Castigo de Ignorancia): Choose an enemy Wizard within 36″ and on a 2+ subtract 1 to casting rolls, shooting, and unbinding until your next hero phase.
  • Punishment of Pain (Castigo de Dolor): Choose an enemy unit wholly within 18 and on a 4+, they must subtract 1 to their hit rolls until your next hero phase.

With a new Death faction on the way, how do you think these guys will differ from the other Death counterparts? Will this be the most elite army we’ve seen come to Death?
