You have to see this amazing conversion to believe it! Mephiston’s much-needed update has been revealed, but this model can take him in a fight!
Usually, on conversions, you can tell that it’s a mixture of a bunch of different bits. However, this older Mephiston conversion from the hobby maniacs at Iron Keep Studio made a seamless Mephiston conversion that looks good enough to hit the shelves as its own kit!
Amazing Mephiston Conversion You Have To See to Believe!
Rocking the classic plasma pistol/power sword combo, this conversion is ahead of its time. It actually looks eerily similar to the GW official Primaris Mephiston model but appears based on Chaos’s Ahriman.
Iron Keep Studio had this to say about thier version of Mephy: It’s a kitbash made to a recipe found on the internet, a friend of mine found it. it’s based on Ahriman’s robed legs and BA torso from BA upgrade kit.
The psychic hood was made of plasticard. it was the first time I used green stuff for something other than filling in gaps so I am very happy with the result.
I aimed at shiny armor appearance and wanted the robes to be of a different hue so used various red shades. I also wanted the robes to look like made of fabric so added texture to it.
Once the bits have been pointed out, you can tell that it’s Ahriman’s lower half including his running cape. But the fact that Mephiston’s Psychic hood is plasticard and head, a mixture of green stuff, this mini’s hobby level maxes out the charts.
This Conversion is almost “Too Good”
This conversion definitely gives the GW official model a run for its money. Outstanding job Iron Keep for doing Mephiston the justice he deserved while he was sitting in the list of models that sorely need an update.
Of course, the hobbyists were working with what they were able to get their hands on, but the models resemble each other quite well. They’re holding their weapons in the right hands, they’re even both putting their pistol right in someone’s face. Plus, the wind-blown cloaks of the models are also flowing in the same direction.
The only real key differences between these models are the fine details of their weapons, the hairstyle, and size (since Mephy just grew a foot for being Primaris). With all of these taken into account, this conversion is definitely one of the top ones we’ve seen. If someone jumped straight into 40k and saw Mephiston’s old model and then saw the conversion, they would think that he got updated and would expect to see that “kit” sitting on the shelf.
