Top 10 AoS Armies of the 2020 LVO
Bringing a dreaded behemoth to the table, Derek rolled out Vorgaroth and Skalok onto an autumn-themed display with other skull-hungry marauders. Just check out the detail on every inch of this display. From the portal to the unit’s basing. It’s all perfect!
Kharadron Overlords also hit the tabletop rocking their Frigates and Gunhaulers. One of the biggest props to this army is the level of water detail on the display board. It’s so realistic it almost looks like this is a snapshot of Dwarves going to war from a movie.
For the Daughters of Khaine, they were spotted forming their ranks outside of one of their temples. Each lion head looks hand-carved and the effect of blood pouring out of the mouth in the back is super fitting for the faction. Great job!
Army from Alex Gonzalez
Being a brand new faction to AoS, there’s hardly been any time to get these armies painted up right. But Alex went HAM and go everything up to tabletop quality with a dope green and dark red theme.
For the Sylvaneth, they hit the table over black soul and dead roots. These Treefolk are painted to a darker color than most other Sylvaneth armies we’ve seen making them look a little haunting. Awesome detail overall. Especially on the dead and withered Wyldwoods.
Another Khorne list was spotted on top of something like Khornate temple grounds. This list brought in Bloodthirster after Bloodthirster mixed in with different mortals. As you’d expect, this force hit like a ton of bricks up close.
Definitely one of the more creative displays we’ve ever seen. This list took what the Flesheater Courts see themselves as and put it into a movable board. Being called the Grand Delusion, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side!
Keeping the theme spooky, these Flesheater Courts are rocking a Fall Harvest/Halloween-style basing theme. Plus, a few key characters even have pumpkin heads.
This dope force incorporated a bunch of Daemons along with bringing the finest fruits from Nurgle’s Garden to the tabletop. A few mortals here and there helped Horticulus Slimux keep the plants festering while the Daemons marched forward and shared the good word about Papa Nurgle!
And finally, the Gitz rolled out of the cave system with a mix of Troggoths, Squigs, and plenty of backstabbas. Attention to detail on the display board is an A+. With what looks to be an abandoned Dwarved outpost, the Gitz have since moved in and are spilling out of every crevice.
This army has some incredibly painted models that we feel like you should check out. While it doesn’t have a crazy display board, that’s the next thing that’ll send this army over the top. Here’s an awesome honorable mention.
After looking at some of these armies, have you decided to start your Age of Sigmar army? Did you get any inspiration for your own display board by looking at these?
