space wolves walpaper wulfen horDon’t miss the latest on Ragnar Blackmane, who may be getting the primaris treatment in Saga of the Beast. GW has confirmed new miniatures are on the way

According to Chapter Master Valrak, someone has apparently seen the datasheet for his stats and rules, and rumor is he’s going to be Primaris. But before we jump into the latest, check out the latest from GW:

New Psychic Awakening Saga of the Beast Teaser

With Warhammer Community posting a new teaser video we see a few more potential news points. The showdown between Ghazghkull and Ragnar is coming in hot!

Speaking of Space Wolves, the next installment of the Psychic Awakening is almost with us. Tomorrow will see some incredible new miniatures revealed to be released later in March. In the meantime, here’s a tease of the saga that is about to unfold…

A key part of this is miniature*s*. They may just be talking about Ghazghkull and Makari, but then again maybe we will see a new Ragnar model too!

RUMORS: Saga of the Beast 40k Starter Box & New Models

HEAVY DISCLAIMER: Before we jump into the rumors, Sprues & Brews sourced the info to Twitter. However, they didn’t provide a link to the post and from the screenshot below, it looks like it was actually taken from Facebook by someone who may speak Italian?

Just keep all of that in mind when you read these rumors.

Ragnar Mentioned in Psychic Awakening Short Story

Blood_on_the_mountain_ragnarWe recommend that you read the full story for yourself. However, pulling out the highlights in the short story, the leaders of the Space Wolves were discussing their future when they had a Rune Priest give a chilling message on some “green trolls”. He mentioned specifically a “green king” fighting under a banner of black horns and how his horde is only growing. And while this story is mainly leaders talking about what their fate might be, Logan mentioned how they had to find Ragnar Blackmane.

His roars spell the death of billions as his anger spills forth into world after world. Everything is swept away before the wrath of the green king, who is feared even by his own kin. A ragged banner with the black horns of the bull rises, and fire and doom rain upon Mankind.

ghazghkull teaserFits the description for Makari’s banner, doesn’t it?

Of course, at the end of this message from the Rune Priest, Logan Grimnar took control of the situation and gave a clear view at what the Space Wolve’s next task would be in order to prepare for the Orkish horde.

The Space Wolves around the table looked at each other. Gillir Thunderstone opened his mouth, then closed it again and sat down. Logan Grimnar nodded slowly.

‘Well,’ he eventually said, ‘someone better find out where in the damned galaxy we can find Ragnar Blackmane.’

ragnarLooking at his model now, there’s not a lot going for him. He was dope for his time but he’s REALLY showing his age. And with all the Primaris support GW has been handing out like candy, it would make sense for them to show some love to Ragnar during the comb-through on Space Wolves in Psychic Awakening.

RUMORS: New Primaris Ragnar Blackmane 40k Stats & Rules

Blood_on_the_mountain_ragnarRemember to take everything with a pinch of salt as this is coming from an anonymous source on the latest video from Chapter Master Valrak. However, supposedly, Ragnar is getting a new set of rules as well as a Primaris statline.

Giving you a reference of his current stats, we’ve got this to go off of, thanks to Battlescribe:

ragnar current stats

Taken from screenshots of Valrak’s video, we’ve got these updates apparently coming in:

ragnar rules rumors 1Big changes here are +2 attacks, +1 wound, and +1 strength which is slightly better than the usual Primaris upgrade. It’s consistently been just +1 attack and wound each.

ragnar rules rumors 2As for Frostfang, it’s supposed to be giving a +1 strength bonus, bringing Ragnar to S7 in combat.

ragnar rules 7It also looks like Ragnar is keeping War Howl, Jarl of Fenris, and The Belt of Russ. However, to play off the new Shock Assault rule that procs when Marines get locked into melee for the first time, he’s getting something mentioned as “Berserk Rage“.

ragnar rules rumors 5Again assuming the rumors are true, Ragnar will be able to explode off of a charge with a whopping ten attacks that ignore standard Primaris save and will be able to one-shot 90% of ground-troop Primaris forces. He might be the Space Wolves form of a named Smash Captain soon.

ragnar rules rumors 6And last but not least, his keywords are looking to be updated to hold Primaris. Not too big of a shocker there.

All in all, it’s odd that we haven’t seen an actual pic of the datasheet. So, for now, we should all probably take all this with a pinch of salt. After seeing GW’s consistent trend with converting named characters to Primaris, it wouldn’t be hard to fake some reasonable changes for someone like Ragnar.
