It’s Happening Again Tomorrow! GW Previews: LATEST

new gw previews adepticon LVO nova openWe’re looking ahead to the second and final wave of GW online previews Saturday. Check out what could be ahead as well as what’s already been revealed.

Since the world has been told to social distance, GW has taken its previews online. With one massive batch of reveals behind us, we’ll be getting a look at everything else they didn’t get to Saturday.

What’s Already Been Previewed?

fabius bile chaos walThere was a lot that was covered. So much that we had to break it all up. But in case you were wanting to go back over everything that hit the web, we’ve got them all here for you.

So What’s Left To Be Revealed For 40k & AoS?

gargantsFor starters, we’ve been seeing the name Sons of Behemat dropped from time and time again. Whether in a shipping manifest or being referenced in a GW teaser video, there’s definitely something up with this name. And for those of you who don’t know, Behemat is an ancient creature that was the father to the Gargants. (Maybe we’ll see an all-Gargant faction).

Engine of warFor Psychic Awakening in 40k, we already know that Engine War is coming ahead of the War of the Spider. On that note, we’ve also seen a  preview of some of the things the Ad Mech were getting. But there’s not been any kind of reveal on the Chaos side of things. It’s definitely a possibility that we could see more for Knights/Dark Mechanicum on Saturday.

Forge World’s 40k Unit Rules Getting Reworked

genetealer cult codex wal horSince the release of the Forge World indexes a couple of years ago, Warhammer 40,000 has changed a lot. While the indexes were a great reference resource, we want to give you something even better which is why the Warhammer 40,000 studio embarked on a project to bring you a series of all-new books with updated rules for these units and armies.

The Warhammer 40,000 Studio – those industrious people behind rulebooks, codexes and expansions like the Psychic Awakening books – are hard at work on a new series of tomes that will cover the range of Warhammer 40,000 miniatures Forge World produce. These books will include updated datasheets and army rules that give these glorious models abilities and benefits that are comparable to the rest of the forces in the game.

As far as we can tell, only the RULES will be changing. That means we may see the current points cost sit at where they currently are and have rules added or taken away to create for more playability/fairness.

To their credit as well, GW has also said that the rules-making aspect of FW units was going back to the main studio as well that handles 40k at large.

We’re one preview down but that doesn’t mean another announcement for updated rules isn’t in the cards for Saturday.

Rumors on Fulgrim, Emperor’s Children & More- War of the Spider

Fulgrim primarch wal horNow, this is the part where we need to take things with a grain of salt. Some pretty bold rumors were spotted over on DakkaDakka, but the source is a “friend that works at GW” so remember…don’t trust it too much. However, there are too many reasonable claims to just be dismissive as well. On the topic of The War of the Spider:

Every faction represented, most with very little (A relic or wlt, tops, most just get fluff) the Emperors Children beseige Terra, ushering in Fulgrim (we will get a tease of his model at the end of Adepticon). The book will function as “Index: Emperors Children”. A lot will be carried over from Faith and Fury but expanded to be equivalent to DG and T Sons.

Will NOT have Fulgrim, he will come with his rules when he is released and shortly after the start of 9th a true EC dex with his rules will be released.

chaos noise marine 2018New Noise Marines on their way, new “Primaris” equivalent coming, created by Fabius.

Not all the new units will have datasheets in War of the Spider, they’re using this to justify the codex coming out a few months after the PA book. Will be much larger than previous PA books, lots of fluff. Closer to Vigilus than not, lots of narrative and campaign rules.

Full-fledged global campaign like at the start of 8th.

These Minis Are Still MIA

Coming from an older post that was announced first by WHC, we’ve had a small look at what would have been coming to Adepticon 2020 since 2019.

There has been no word yet if these were going to be part of the goodies GW had planned for preview attendees yet…

adepticon 2020 exclusive psykerWarhammer 40,000 fans can bolster their Adeptus Astartes forces with this resplendent Librarian in Terminator Armour.

There’s one especially great thing about this Terminator Librarian. This guy being previewed means GW is still considering putting time into normal Marines. This is the first non-Primaris Adeptus Astartes model we’ve seen come to the 40k universe since the start of 8th edition that’ll be in his own clam pack. (I.e not Space Marine heroes). Pretty awesome.

adepticon 2020 exclusive stormcast anvilKnight-Questor Dacian Anvil will be making an appearance for Warhammer Age of Sigmar collectors

As for Dacian Anvil, he was first previewed a while back with no real answer given to where he would pop up. However, it’s been unveiled that he would have been making his debut at Adepticon 2020.

These guys are MIA ever since Adepticon has been canceled. We’re not sure if they will be turned into Store Exclusives or maybe mailed to the people that bought their seminar tickets for the in-house previews that would’ve been hosted at Adepticon. We really don’t know what;s going to happen with these guys.

There Could Still Be More We Don’t Even Know About

ephrael stern daemonifugeMoving beyond what’s on the table, it’s also certainly not past GW to have kept something air-tight for a huge reveal. We may be getting blown away Saturday with something that we never saw coming. Just remember to keep an open mind about what lies ahead.
