Rumors are coming in from multiple sources saying that Forge World is will be discontinuing more Warhammer 40k models soon…
We’re getting reports of multiple hobbyists asking Forge World of when their Temporarily Out of Stock-labeled items will be available once again. Their answer might be concerning to some. Let’s jump in. Just remember. These are strictly rumors. If they do turn out to be true, we should be seeing the evidence around 9th Edition’s release.
RUMORS: Forge World Discontinuing More 40k Models
So here’s the rumor:
Now that Forge World is up and running again, people have been sending emails into Forge World asking when certain products would be made available once again. When the people did a bit more questioning, they’ve found out that Forge World essentially isn’t planning on ever bringing some Out of Stock items back.
In other words, once they’re gone, they’re gone. But because of the vagaries of Warp Travel (er boat travel), some of the items that are out of stock on other country’s sites may still be in stock here in America.
Apparently that is the key to this cipher, as far as anyone has been able to tell yet…
One of models that were mentioned was the Leman Russ Vanquisher model (which has no rules codex rules in 8th so it sorta makes sense) and some of the Macharius Tank variants. As we all know, there are a bunch of different resin variants of the Leman Russ and Macharius. For the Leman Russ, there are some weapons that are just resin re-skins to the plastic kit wargear.
While a few units were mentioned, it might make sense for some other close variants of those units to also get the boot later on.
It’s also important to note that GW outright said on a Live Twitch Stream from WarhammerTV that more units would be going to Warhammer Legends once 9th Edition drops. Assuming these rumors are true, tanks and upgrade kits like these could be the first in line for what gets sent to their final resting place.
You May Still Be Able To Find Them
At the time of writing this, depending on your location, you may be able to find a Vanquisher or Macharius Vulcan in Stock. Also rumored to be on the chopping block are Chaos and Loyalist Rhino/Predator upgrades, and anything “not primaris-y, heresy, or a special character” from the Marine side.
However, it sounds like once FW is picked clean, they’ll be cutting some if not all of these models we have mentioned.
We have seen correspondence from Forge World’s customer service team that confirms they would be “retiring” (as they put it) some of the offerings that are currently marked as out of stock, once they sell out world-wide.
With that said if you were thinking about grabbing anything from their store, you may want to do a sweep and see what’s available.
