mcfarlane intercessor walThis price is too good to be true! Pre-order your Warhammer 40k 9th Edition Paintable Primaris Intercessor action figure set from McFarlane right now!

Games Workshop has been been working with McFarlane Toys to bring us affordable action figures. So far, we’ve seen a Primaris Intercessor, as well as a Necron Warrior and Assault Intercessor to drop along with 9th Edition. Today, we’re going to be taking a close up look at the paintable Intercessor now on pre-order.

GW Announces Space Marine & Necron Action Figures

mcfarlane action figures 9th edition duoIn case you missed the earlier announcements for 9th Edition, McFarlane Toys has also partnered up with GW and is bringing us two of the new units to life in a 7″ tall action figure. They’ve also just made their way to Amazon.

That’s right, MORE new action figures! Each of these 7” figures features 22-point Ultra Articulation, a base for easy posing, detailed weapons, squad insignia, and an awesome Warhammer 40,000-themed window box.*

mcfarlane action figures 9th edition 2Coming with a bolt pistol and chainsword, you’ll be able to pose this guy at rest or in mid-swing on a heretic in your hobby cave.

mcfarlane action figures 9th edition 3For the Necron Warrior, there is a 7″ version of GW’s brand new sculpt on the unit. With the newly-designed gauss flayer and head, he’s also got battle damage that is in various stages of healing throughout the model.

Not to be outdone, this hunched, brazen Necron Warrior comes packed with a massive Gauss Flayer and a Canoptek Scarab in the box! The figure is fully poseable to pair up in dynamic duels or skulk around stalking your other action figures

So the Assault Intercessor is coming with an Ultramarines look and the Warrior with the updated paint scheme. However, if you want to bring an Intercessor into your own Chapter (i.e not Ultramarines), you can now pre-order the paintable Intercessor.

McFarlane Paintable Intercessor Action Figure Is Up For Pre-Order!

We saw this guy pre-painted up as an Ultramarine in the 2020 Toy Fair, but good news- if you play a Chapter outside of Guilliman’s grasp, you’ll be able to get your hands on a blank version now!

Yes, you can paint your own. This initial wave also includes an unpainted Space Marine Primaris Intercessor armed with a Bolt Rifle, ready to be recruited into your favourite Chapter.

Comparing McFarlane To Bandai

spawn vs bandaiWe took Spawn from Mcfarlane (excuse the packing peanut stains on the cape- they clean up nicely with goo-gone) and compared it to Bandai’s Space Marine. you can get an idea of the scale and quality between the two figures and brands above!

If you want to see more, check out GW’s other partnership with Bandai as we review their pre-painted limited release Marine below.

Compared to the limited print run of the GW/Bandai action figure, McFarlane is certainly pumping them out faster. With that said, they’re also much more affordable and seemingly available. If you couldn’t get your hands on a Bandai, be sure to check out McFarlane’s details.

What do you think about the paintable Intercessor? Will you be grabbing more than one for your collection?
