Most White Dwarf Tome Celestial Warscroll Battalions from previous issues are now legal for matched play in Age of Sigmar- check this out!
Warhammer Community announced that factions of White Dwarf-exclusive Warscroll Battalions will now be able to play them in Matched Play games (Pitched Battle) regardless of their opponent’s permission.
That’s right, up until this point, you could only bring them if your opponent allowed it. While we doubt many people had any kind of problem with these Battalions in non-competitive “just for funsies” games, it also means that they’re usable/legal on the tournament level.
White Dwarf Tome Celestial Warscroll Battalions Usable in Matched Play!
As far asWarscroll Battalions from White Dwarf, these are some of the more recent ones we’re talking about. Just so you have an idea:
- Gloomspite Gitz Jaws of Mork
- Ironjawz Dakkbad’s Brawl
- Hedonites of Slaanesh Vengeful Throng
- Stormcast Eternals Steel Souls Warrior Chamber
You get the idea. Now to look at the changes themselves. From Warhammer Community:
we have updated the General’s Handbook 2020 designer’s commentary to provide a comprehensive list of which publications can be used in Pitched Battles (2020) without your opponent’s permission. This now includes all Tome Celestial content preceding the 1st of August 2020.
It’s pretty exciting to see that factions who got White Dwarf support also got a little freebie Warscroll Battalion bonus. If your faction hasn’t gotten its White Dwarf debut yet, just be patient! It’s probably just a matter of time before GW combs through each army, giving them a little support spice.
