Sisters of Battle Immolator: Burning for The Emperor

40k-LORE-sisters of battle title wal horThe Immolator has a long history of burning heretics for the love of the Emperor, what’s not to like about that if you’re a Sisters of Battle?

We’ve seen a ton of minis teased and released for the Adepta Sororitas so we wanted to take a look at one of their many interesting vehicles. Because they all serve as both vehicles of war and places of worship. Today we”ll look at the history of the Immolators and how long they’ve been in use. Get out your best flamer and let’s learn about some Immolator Lore.

Sisters of Battle Immolator Discovery

Immolator UnboxingThe design for the Immolator was discovered back in the 35th Millenium. Not by the Sisters themselves but by the Frateris Templars, who were the original armed forces of the Eccliasarchy. But that was before they got wise to the fact that a bunch of fanatical Sisters was far better at it! The Templars fought for nearly 30 years in the Icaria Crusade before they found the STCs for endless tech in an abandoned complex.

Instead of just letting them have their prize, they decided to use it as a bargaining chip against the Adeptus Mechanicus. Because we know the Imperium isn’t a place of things working easily and everyone fights. Even though they are all fighting for the good of mankind, they have to be the ones to save it! After many years of negotiating, there was a compromise reached.

The Only Thing Left For the Sisters

Including all of the precious ancient tech there. In return, the Ministorum would be given access to any of the “new” technologies rediscovered.

The findings were, should we say, less than exciting. Definitely, nothing to get the Emperor out of his chair. But, this was the birth of the Immolator! The designs were then sent to Mars, where they were combined with a Rhino, and the Immolator was born!

The Unknown

Immolator LoreIt’s not known to us if the Immolator required the Rhino, or if the Mechanicus was just lazy. There could have been some kind of unknown chassis for it, but we’ll never know. The design for the tank is still closely guarded by the Ministorum and they refuse to let any other branch get the tech. But really, it favors the Sisters more than anyone else!
