Toys ‘R’ Us to Open Back Up In the States!

Toys r us feature rIn 2018 the stores seemed to have closed forever but soon Toys ‘R’ Us is set to open under new ownership- check it out!

If you shed a little tear for the toy giant in 2018, then you should be excited to see it’s coming back! While it’s not going to have giant box stores like in the past, the name and idea will live on. Well, for now at least. The parent company, Tru Kids Inc., was bought by a New York-based management firm, WHP, coming from a statement on CNBC.

This isn’t the first time new owners have come in to save the brand, but they are going to do things differently. With Toys in as high of demand as ever, they feel they have the strategy to make it work.

Toys r usInstead of giant stores, they are going to try and adapt to the new COVID world. With things like pop-up locations, airport shops, and places inside existing retail stores. So if you were hoping to bring your kids into the giant stores, those days seem to be over. While they say this is just the start of the plan, we don’t see them returning to large buildings once again.

We’re in the brand business, and Toys R Us is the single most credible, trusted, and beloved toy brand in the world,  said Yehuda Shmidman the chairman and chief executive officer of WHP. He then continued with, We’re coming off a year where toys are just on fire. … And for Toys R Us, the U.S. is really a blank canvas. we’re interested to see if they can finally revamp the brand and keep it going into the future. Because who doesn’t love toys?
