MTG: Kamigawa Neon Dynasty Product Lineup & Key Dates

Following the announcement from Wizards of the Coast, we now know all about the dates for the new standard set, Kamigawa Neon Dynasty releasing on February 18, 2022. You can check the listings from Wizards, but we will also cover all the info you need to know right here!

Magic The Gathering Kamigawa Neon Dynasty Product Details

First up there’s a sweet new promo for WPN stores featuring a brand new alt art treatment!

The yellow Neon Ink foil Promo—Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos—is exclusive to WPN Premium stores. This showcase treatment is new for Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty and practically glows in-hand, making it a gorgeous addition in a set dripping with aesthetic appeal.

Other than that it seems to be a pretty standard set filled with alt arts, new lands, and plenty of ways to purchase it all. Speaking of which, let’s check out all the product details. While the above card is a promo exclusive, there are a total of 4 variants: Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow.

Kamigawa Pre-Release Kit

Case Configuration: 15 packs per carton

These actually release 1 week prior to the full set release, as they are of course part of pre-release! These are primarily from events between February 11 and February 17, 2022, but you can usually pick them up after if stores have extra.

Kamigawa Draft Boosters/ Booster Box

    • Card with rarity Rare or higher in every booster
    • Just draft, add lands, and play
With cyberpunk cards full of color and chrome—the future is bright in Kamigawa
These are primarily made for drafting but are pretty comparable to Set boosters. There are 36 packs per booster box, 15 cards per pack, and 6 boxes per order.

These are by far the best option to just crack packs and see what you pull. There are 30 packs per booster box, 12 cards per pack, and 6 boxes per order.

If your goal is to collect all the fancy art cards or foils, this is the way to do it. There are 12 packs per booster box, 15 cards per pack, and 24 boxes per order.

If you only really care about one color, then these make it a little easier, while still having the fun of opening packs. There are 12 packs per booster box, 35 cards per pack, and 6 boxes per order.

    • 40 basic land cards (20 foil + 20 nonfoil)

These provide a fun way to get a decent amount of packs, and a decent enough box to carry them in! There are 6 Bundles per order for a store.

Kamigawa Commander Decks

While we don’t know much about the Commander decks yet, they are sure to be popular! Al we currently know is that these will be red-green and white-blue decks

Commander is a growing format, so these are sure to be a hit. There are 2 different deck options and 2 of each deck per order.

If you are just interested in the collection or maybe you love the art for a specific card, this is the way to go! Otherwise, you could always just buy singles on the secondary market as well if it’s just a few cards you want.

Kamigawa Event Dates

  • Launch Party: February 18–20, 2022
  • Friday Night Magic: February 25–April 22, 2022
  • Commander Nights: February 28–April 28, 2022
  • Game Day: March 5–6, 2022
