As the current conflict unfolds hobbyists have been asking about buying miniatures from companies in Russia and Ukraine- here is what we know.
Obviously, buying miniatures isn’t the most important thing right now in either Russia or Ukraine, but a lot of people have been asking companies in both countries for updates.
Editor’s note: This isn’t meant as a political statement, it’s about if you can get minis. Again, this isn’t all the companies in the region, just the ones we’ve seen and spoken with.
Keep in mind that the views and actions of the Russian Government do not reflect the views of gaming manufacturers there.
This isn’t all the miniature companies out there, just what we’ve seen so far. So, if you’ve been wondering about buying miniatures from regions such as Russia and Ukraine, check out the status from the companies themselves.
Can You Buy Miniatures From Russia & Ukraine?
Update: Paypal has been turned off as a form of payment in Russia, making ordering from those companies difficult. Facebook has also been disabled, but companies are still able to communicate via email.
As of right now, there are no sanctions in place against buying miniatures from Russia, and the Russian post is still operating. Buying miniatures from Ukraine is a bit trickier and varies by manufacturer.
Ukrainian post currently not working. UPS service was also suspended to the region. Sea shipping giant Maersk also closed its office with no more shipping currently.
With it comes to this conflict always vote with your hobby $$$ as it looks like most Russian miniature companies do not necessarily agree with the views of their government in regards to the invasion of Ukraine. We wish all the hobby companies the best in these troubled times on both sides of the border.
