Top Homebrew 40k Army List: Adepticon 2022 40k Champs

40k-homebrew-army-listsAnother off-meta Warhammer 9th Edition 40k army list emerged in the Adepticon 2022 40k Champs, check this one out!

9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players are taking lists with units that nobody was expecting. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This just goes to show us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.

However, we aren’t covering all those lists, instead, we will be looking at just one of our favorites this week.

Adepticon 2022 40k Champs: Justin Curtis – Thousand Sons 23rd Place

Justin Curtis 1Justin’s Thousand Sons might have been 23rd, but at a gigantic tournament like Adepticon, that’s actually still very impressive!

He went for a single battalion led by 2 Exalted Sorcerers and an Infernal Master. The 2 Exalted Sorcerers have two casts and hit re-roll aura each, while the Infernal Master has one cast and access to the pacts system.  Troops start off with a total of 20 Rubric marines, making for durable troops with pretty good firepower.

Closing out troops is a 20 man Tzaangors unit, which can do some serious damage if allowed to get into melee at a decent strength.

Elites Wrap it all up, with a total of 20 Scarab Occult Terminators, which are extremely durable models, and thanks to their 4 Soulreaper Cannons, they can also lay down some serious hurt long range.

All in all this is a pretty standard list for Thousand Sons, but it’s nice to be reminded that they are still certainly viable in competitive settings if the general is good enough!
