Games Workshop Launches a $1500 Painting Class

warhammer-1500-painting-classGames Workshop added a $1500 Painting Class to the New Mexico event, and you’ll learn how to paint a titan that you actually get to keep!

The price of this seminar is pretty crazy, and you’ll have to lay down some serious cash to participate in the event, but at least you get a fully painted (hopefully) Titan out of the deal. However, if you’ve always wanted a Warhound and weren’t sure how to paint it, maybe it’s worthwhile.

Let’s check out the details of the event!

Games Workshop Launches a $1500 Painting Class (Includes a Titan)

New Mexico Tournament

First up, the painting class will be part of the November event in New Mexico. Here are the details from Warhammer Community.

All these events culminate at the Grand Narrative and Finale in November at the incredible Hyatt Tamaya Resort. Vista views of the desert with fireside briefings, interactive narrative gameplay and an amazing finale to all our tournaments to boot – what could be bigger than that? How about a Titan?

That’s right! Added to the slate for New Mexico will be the largest master-painting class you’ve ever seen. A three-day, fully immersive Titan painting class featuring incredibly advanced techniques such as airbrushing, weathering and ageing, non-metal metallic work, and object-sourced lighting. And, you even get a Titan of your own to paint and take home!

So, before we get into the details of the painting class, let’s break down the price of how much you’ll actually pay for the class:

  • Titan Body: $621.50
  • Mega Bolter: $77
  • Plasma Blastgun: $77

Titan Total (if equipped exactly like the Warhound they showed): $775.50

How much just the painting class will cost you: $724.50

The Warhounds are also temporally out of stock over on Forge World, which makes sense with this on the horizon. Well, now that we have a price, let’s see what you get and where to get your tickets.

The Details

If you want to participate in this class, you can buy your tickets here. Now though, let’s hear more about the class itself:

Join us this November in New Mexico for a unique and immersive three-day course on painting your own authentic Forge World Warhound Titan. In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of painting True Metallic Metals, heat stress, glowing effects, armour surfaces, freehand and detailing work. This class will feature both traditional brush work as well as airbrush work (an airbrush will be provided for use during the class, or you can bring your own).

This class is intended or intermediate to high level skill painters who feel comfortable painting game-ready miniatures and are looking to step towards parade-ready miniatures. This immersive master class will include hours of instruction each day, select Citadel paints, premium Citadel brushes and Citadel hobby products as well as a Forge World Warhound Class Titan that is yours to take home.

In a way, this is kind of cool (also, you get three days of techniques and such) because by the time it’s over, you should have a full titan. However, you are paying over $700 for a painting class, but from the looks of it you will have proper guidance on getting there.

Would you ever pay this much for a painting class? Will you be joining the class?
