GW Reveals New Space Marines Model & 18 Black Library Books
This weekend, fans of fiction will want to tune in for the Warhammer Preview Online: Black Library, which will bring news of upcoming tales of heroes and villains from the worlds of Warhammer.
We’ll be showing you a whole load of brilliant upcoming books, along with words from some of your favourite Black Library authors and some blockbuster announcements to make this an unmissable event.
Here are all the latest news and big reveals from the Black Library Preview!
Captain Vitrian Messinius
Starting off with a biggy, a new Space Marines miniature is on the way from Black Library.
This year’s Black Library celebration miniature steps straight from the pages of the Dawn of Fire series – it’s Captain Vitrian Messinius.
Messinus of the White Consuls cuts a dashing figure, with details that you’ll recognise from the novels including the auramite powerfist that was given to him by none other than Roboute Guilliman.
Who knows if he’ll be good in Warhammer 40k? One thing is for sure. He has a dope model that you can EASILY use as a proxy for an HQ.
Dawn of Fire: The Iron Kingdom
Kicking off the Black Library celebration, Nick Kyme reveals the next Dawn of Fire novel, The Iron Kingdom.
This next instalment continues the story of Battle Group Praxis, as it surges forward with the rest of the Indomitus Crusade.
You’ll be able to pick up the book as a paperback or as a slightly more special version
The Special edition returns in a similar style to some of the previous ones.
They also provided us a little preview of the story if you are interested, which is included below.
Siege of Terra: The End and the Death
The end is undoubtedly on its way, but tying up a series as sprawling and complex as the Horus Heresy isn’t so simple!
Volume 1 of the The End and the Death will be released in a standard edition with the gorgeous art we’ve already previewed, and as a decadent limited edition bound in a faux-leather case with an embedded metal emblem, a red ribbon bookmark, gold page edges, full colour art, and a map inside.
As a capstone to the Horus Heresy, this book will surely be a big interest point.
As the end of Horus Heresy draws near, the climax in lore is sure to be exciting for all fans of the origins of the current Warhammer 40k era.
Bad Loon Rising
Bad Loon Rising tracks the rise of unlikely Loonboss Zograt and his insatiable thirst for power.
Who doesn’t love a power-hungry Git?
First Founding
Nine Chapters remain loyal to the Emperor this side of the Horus Heresy. Discover the challenges they are wrestling with in the wake of the Cicatrix Maledictum opening.
This intricate tome features background lore and art covering the Loyalist First Founding Chapters. It includes 30 specially-commissioned illustrations, nine of which are amazing double-page spreads.
Black Library Celebration 2023
First up, Guy Hayley’s Skarsnik and William King’s Angel of Fire were this year’s Reader’s Choice winners and you’ll be able to pick them up in 2023.
Angels Of Darkness 20th Anniversary Edition
Gav Thorpe’s Angels of Darkness also returns for a special twentieth anniversary edition, letting you relive the struggles of Boreas once more.
Black Celebration 2023
Finally the Black Celebration 2023 will be accompanied by a special paperback anthology that contains five stories covering Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Warhammer The Horus Heresy, as well as a tale each from Warhammer Horror and Crime.
Cypher: Lord of the Fallen
This limited edition is all about one of the Imperium’s greatest warriors, or perhaps their greatest traitor? There’s only one way to find out.
Cypher and the Dark Angel’s Secret has been one of the most elusive topics since its existence was unveiled… Hopefully, this book gives fans some answers!
The Last Volari
Soulblight vampires are blessed (or cursed?) by Nagash with immortality – so why is Nyssa Volari dying? Gary Kloster explores the impossible in The Last Volari.
Vampires being revived meant more than just getting to play them in AoS; finally, it also meant the influx of more lore like this book!
Pilgrims of Fire
The Order of Our Martyred Lady are perhaps the most zealous of all the Adepta Sororitas. Pilgrims of Fire by Justin D Hill tracks these furious warrior nuns as they attempt to liberate the shrine world of Cion.
Blightslayer
You can’t keep a good duardin down, as the saying goes. Gotrek and Amara return to the wilds of Ghyran, where Nurgle’s Garden has manifested in Richard Strachan’s Blightslayer.
As one of the all-time favorite AoS and Fantasy Dwarves for many players, these books always seem to hit the mark.
Creed: Ashes of Cadia
The shattered remains of Cadia still hold some secrets – and new lord castellan Ursula Creed cannot escape their pull. Find out what awaits her there in Creed: Ashes of Cadia by Jude Reid.
Cadia will forever be a sweet spot of lore for Guard enjoyers, so this book will hopefully continue the trend.
Armageddon Special Edition
These Special editions always run out fast, so if you’re interested keep your eyes open for it next year.
Word Bearers Box Set Collection
As a popular legion, this will surely be a hit when it finally comes out in 2023.
Siege of Terra Maps: Mortis & Devastation of the Imperial Palace Interior
There are also two more gorgeous Siege of Terra maps coming – one depicting the events of Mortis and another showing the destruction wrought on the Imperial Palace in Warhawk.
