GW Confirms New Warhammer 40k Angron World Eaters Rules

angron daemon primarchWe’ve seen a lot of rumors, but Games Workshop confirmed the majority of the new Warhammer 40k Angron rules for World Eaters.

It’s nice to see the actual rules from GW, as some of the rumored ones are pretty crazy, and there was a debate on how true they were. So, we’ll also throw in the latest round of rumors to compare against and see what other rules we can fill in that were not previewed just yet…

Warhammer 40k Angron Rules Confirmed by Games Workshop

Warhammer Community unveiled all the new rules, so let’s get into it!

40k Angron Rules

Those beefy arms aren’t just for crushing bodybuilding competitions. The Red Angel clocks in at a monstrous Strength 9, making his open hand slaps as powerful as a lascannon blast, and that’s before he picks up his frankly terrifying weapons. Once he takes Samni’arius (the sword) and Spinegrinder (the axe) in hand, things get really wild.

With Strength 9, 2+ to hit, 18 wounds, 12 attacks, and a 2+ save, he will be insanely hard to kill and will hit amazingly hard. However, the 12 attacks get a lot better in a second.

40k Angron Rules 2

Wielded as a pair, his Skull-taking Slash is perfect for VEHICLES, MONSTERS, and especially stubborn CHARACTERS. Strength 14 wounds the majority of targets on a 2+, blowing right through tough hide or steel plating. Did we mention his mind-boggling 12 Attacks? That’s almost three wrecked Leman Russ Battle Tanks per turn* – on average. Do not get your fancy ride within a mile of this guy.

It looks like the rumors of 36 attacks were true! For infantry, this means he will hit on 2+ (about 30 hits) and wound the majority on 2+ (25 wounds on average) with a -3 AP. So even against Marines, they will get smashed through instantly. then, his stronger attack will just kill any vehicle or monster he comes in contact with.

If you’re playing against Angron, try to shoot him down before he gets into combat, or your units will get smashed. Now, let’s compare these to the recent rumors from Reddit.

40k Angron Rules 3

When not leading fellow Khornates to greater heights of brutality with Infectious Rage and Glorious Bloodletting, the Red Angel’s sheer presence is enough to root enemies in place. Once Angron is within reach, death is assured. For Angron himself, on the other hand, death is not assured – he can, and likely will, return from death if your army has performed sufficient slaughter using Reborn in Blood. How does that work? You’ll have to wait and see…

Having three auras to pick from is pretty awesome and depending on what you’re expecting to happen in the next turn, you can pick the correct one. All three are really strong, but that’s not it.

We also heard rumors he can come back to life! All the rumors have said is the Bloodtithe mechanic brings him back, and now, with this from GW, it seems more or less confirmed!

Angron rules 2Coming from the same rumors as before, these look pretty close, and they were also the rumors that mention coming back to life. These are about as close as leaks can get!
