New Guard New Wins: New Years Knockout 40k Army Lists
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves. You can check out the details here.
Note: This event didn’t use the new Chapter Approved
3rd Place: Tedd Williamson – Necron
2nd Place: Geoff Husser – Astra Militarum
1st Place: Dan Sammons – Astra Militarum
Dan started things off with the new top Guard in town, Solar Leontus. He offers a great unit and some great support for the rest of the list as well! He brings so much to the table that it’s hard to make a list without at least thinking about his inclusion since his release alongside this edition’s Imperial Guard update.
The rest of the list is inside a Battalion. It is led by two tank commanders, who come inside tanks and have the benefit of having two more ranged armor threats! There is also a Command Squad with good weapons and access to orders.
Troops bring in 3 units of Cadian Shock troops, which seem to be nearly everyone’s troop of choice for the faction since their release/codex. While Elites have three Karskin units, they are more foot-slogging troops with decent stats.
Fast Attacks bring in two Plasma Sentinels for decent mobility choices, while Heavy support goes with five Leman Russ to pair up with the Tank Commanders as some heftier ranged threats.
