GW confirms the sneaky Warhammer 40k Oghram preview for whatever side of the Leviathan box won more games recently.
If you haven’t been keeping an eye on the Oghram Campaign, GW promised to reveal either new Tyranids or Space Marines, depending on who won more games in the global campaign. They said both sides will have miniatures revealed, but the winning faction will get models first (or at least reveals).
Just last weekend, they did the Not Warhammer 40k Preview, but for all you Grimdark fans out there, you’re in luck! While this isn’t a huge surprise, it is a little sooner than most people expected but it leaves some guessing for when the other faction will have their miniatures revealed.
GW Confirms Sneaky 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Oghram Preview
This teaser for the 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Oghram preview comes from Warhammer Community.
The Global Battle for Oghram is officially over! This bustling hive world in the Segmentum Pacificus has been the stage for a pitched battle as the Tyranid Hive Fleet in the face of extreme resistance from a Space Marine counterattack.
The outcome of this terrific clash was up to the community, as everyone who bought Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan could contribute using a unique code found in the box.
The games could only be sent in with the models in the Leviathan box, and at the last time they released numbers, the factions were almost dead even, with a 49/51 split.
As the dust settles, we’re totting up the results, counting every spent shell case, weighing all the biomass, and surveying the lasting damage left by such unprecedented carnage.
The final results will be revealed on Saturday the 15th of July during a special preview for all of the new miniatures from the side who won.
If you’re on the west coast of the US, this will be quite an early preview, but it’s nice to have the miniatures revealed either way! However, this leads us to wonder when the other faction will have their miniatures revealed, but there are some obvious possibilities.
Will There Be More Sneaky 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Previews This Summer?
Probably, yes? The jury is out on whether they will be sneaky or not, though. Let’s start with the timeframe of everything. The Nova Open runs from August 30 – September 3 (and usually has a preview), which leaves a big hole in the preview schedule, considering these reveals will be hitting on July 15th, and that would leave a full month and a half until the other faction gets revealed.
It seems like a month and a half is a long time to wait to see the models, but it’s hard to know anything at this point with Games Workshop for sure.
So, what falls in that time frame? Gen Con! It runs from August 3-6, which would be an excellent time to see more models for whatever faction lost the campaign. This gives them a week or so to tabulate the results and then get the reveal all set up for a Gen Con preview with the losing faction. (click here to see 2021’s Gen Con Preview.)
They always have a big Nova Open preview, and we might finally see something other than Marines or Nids for 10th there. It’s been a few years since Gen Con had a preview, but this year could be the comeback.
