Beachhead Brawl 2024: Black Templars – Alex Harrison 5th Place

Alex’s Black Templars might not have won, but they did place well! Two Techmarines led the list for some vehicle support later in the list. Troops keep it simple with three units of Crusaders for some solid bodies with good melee weapons and even some meltas.

Transports consist of an Impulsor and a Rhino to pump out a few shots each turn, but more importantly, protect a unit each in the early turns of the game.

Other sheets start with three Black Templar Gladiator Reapers for some vehicles dedicated to ranged shots, especially taking out chaff and troops, while also being fairly durable. Two Eliminators act as some more infantry-style models with the ability to take shots from long-range and potentially target characters or the units they lead.

Two more standard Reapers fill the same role as the Black Templar variants, serious ranged threats with solid durability. Those are followed by three Destructors, which excel at targeting infantry thanks to its special rules.

The list also saw some Scouts to round out points and add a bit of early-game utility. The final unit for the list is an allied Callidus Assassin to help target characters.
