It’s been a little while since the Orks have made a big splash with new minis, but the Greenskins are slatted next for Warhammer 40k!
If you remember, at the beginning of 10th Edition, GW dropped a roadmap of the upcoming codexes, and to this point, they have followed pretty closely to that schedule. Not only that, we’ve seen a shrouded Ork miniature, and with Dark Angels now fully released, we expect to see some greenskin previews soon!
The Orks Are Next for Warhammer 40k!
Here’s the roadmap; it looks pretty obvious to us who’s next! While GW has been showing off a lot of Tau stuff, we think that’s just due to not having a ton of new Orks to release this go around. In 9th Edition edition, the Orks got a massive rework. So, while we would love a ton of new miniatures, we feel like they might be one of the factions only grabbing a couple of new releases.
Last time, they got a whole slew of new miniatures, some reworks, and an army box. In February 2024, they also got this new character as well. So, this time around, we don’t expect such a giant release (we would love to be wrong).
It could also make sense for them to drop at the same time as Custodes, just like GW did with Necrons and Ad Mech. Looking at the schedule, it looks like GW may have wanted to drop Orks with Dark Angels, but maybe with all the global delays, they couldn’t drop both at once. Perhaps, if things are back on track, we’ll even get Orks with Custodes.
Luckily, we have at least one shrouded mini to look at.

This looks like a new Ork miniature and probably a Mek suit to boot! It’s got all the telltale signs of Ork tech. Look at all those “Tesla” coils.
When Will We See The Reveals?
Let’s be honest; with the full Dark Angels release not hitting shelves until until just before AdeptiCon (March 9th, 2024). This means the AdeptiCon reveal (Wed, March 20th) will be the most likely place to see the new Orks if it is a major release (but they probably won’t because they have been teasing Tau since January already!)
Either way, if you’re hopeful for new minis and a codex, you don’t have long to wait now (well… in our minds).
Either way, GW has stuck to the release script for now, so we expect Orks to get the next codex release in Warhammer 40k, hopefully very soon! After all, Spring 2024 officially starts March 19th and ends June 20th, 2024, spring just came early for the Dark Angels.
