The Solar Auxilia are humanity’s finest mortal troops, and they’re coming to the battlefield with a range of new plastic kits, starting with the massive Solar Auxilia Battle Group Army Box. We know the pricing for the box, so we can estimate just how much it will save you!

If you want early access to the new Solar Auxilia minis, this is really the only way to do it. However, army box contents usually come out weeks or months later. So, if you can’t get your hands on a box, it may not be worth paying higher prices on the secondary market, as these models should be released in the near future.

New Solar Auxilia Battle Group Army Box Pricing & Value

Much like other bundle boxes that were released in 2023 without a rulebook or codex, the battlegroup is $210.

Containing 28 brand-new miniatures, the Solar Auxilia Battle Group brings them to plastic for the first time. A five-man Line Command section consisting of an Auxilia Troop Master and four Auxilia Veterans with a variety of upgrade choices leads a complement of 20 Auxilia armed with las rifles. There’s also a Leman Russ Strike Tank, an Aethon Pattern Heavy Sentinel, and a Dracosan Armoured Transport.

Solar Auxila Battle Group Description

The Solar Auxilia was the most elite branch of the Imperial Army during the Horus Heresy. Its mortal soldiers were trained to fight in hazardous environments like alien atmospheres, toxic death zones, and the cold vacuum of space. These soldiers were equipped with advanced weaponry and sealed environmental armor.

They are selected from various conquered territories of the Imperium based on their skill, discipline, and aggression. As the Age of Darkness spreads across the stars, the Solar Auxilia must choose between honoring their Warmaster or standing with their Emperor. This battle group serves as an excellent foundation for a new Solar Auxilia army.

This battlegroup is an awesome way to start a new Solar Auxilia army or add some new miniatures to your collection. The infantry core consists of 20 Solar Auxilia soldiers carrying lasrifles and bayonets.

The squad is led by a fancy Auxilia Captain and his Tactical Command Section of four Companions. These guys get shipped off to battle in a big, armored Dracosan Transport.

They also get firepower support from an Aethon Heavy Sentinel and a Leman Russ Strike Tank that’s sealed up to deal with the environment.

Is the Solar Auxilia Battle Group Worth It?

In short, yes! If you want a bunch of new plastic miniatures for the Solar Auxilia, this is going to be the cheapest way to do it for some time unless GW surprises us with another box. Not only that, these will come out before the other releases, which means you get somewhat of early access to that sweet new plastic.

While it doesn’t have a ton of foot sloggers, they should be fairly reasonable to get more of if they do come in boxes of 20. Whether you want to play them in Horus Heresy or use them for Imperial Guard, this is going to be a great way to do it!

What Should You Buy Next?

That’s hard to say, considering a large amount of the army is still in resin. We’d wait until the rest of the plastic comes out and then start buying things you think look cool!

If you’re using this for Warhammer 40k instead, you can add some more tanks from the regular line or, once again, hobby on these until more Solar Auxilia plastic arrives.

Either way, this box is an excellent way to start a new Solar Auxilia army for Horus Heresy, and it offers significant savings compared to buying the miniatures separately.
