The January releases for Infinity: The Game are finally here from Corvus Belli. This month sees reinforcements for the Mercenaries, ALEPH, Combined Army, PanOceania, Ariadna, Nomads, and Tohaa factions. Below is a selection of the new releases that can be viewed here!

THE CHARONTIDS (PLASMA RIFLE): €16.95

Charontids Infinity

Blister with: 1x CHARONTID (Plasma Rifle)

Charontids are the heavy tactical incarnation of the EI’s personality Aspects for Search and Destroy tasks. Their biosynthetic bodies improve upon the Skiávoros model with heavier armor and all-round resistance to hostile fire. These creatures are the perfect soldiers. They can march for a week without sleep. They can withstand any level of solar radiation and any gravity. They can breathe any atmosphere, untroubled by the stench of an alien planet. They can slumber anywhere, and regain full awareness in an instant. They can feed off any organic matter. They are equipped with the best in Voodoo Technology. Their helmets are fitted with a next-generation wide-angle image intensifier, a multi-directional microphone, a wide-spectrum telemeter and a set of active and passive infrared sensors. Sensory hypersensitivity and radar/sonar systems are spread over a number of armor plates for full awareness of its surroundings. In the field, these operatives receive a constant information feed from the satellite network and geosynchronous EI command centers. All transmissions are redundant, with different sources and encryption methods, to guarantee the integrity of the information and avoid enemy tampering.

The synergy between all these advanced technologies allows Charontids to see everything and process every detail of the battlefield. The consensus amongst opponents of the EI is that you can outrun a Charontid, but you can never hide from it. Their name, from Classical Greek, translates roughly as “those who are like Charon” or “the offspring of Charon”, in reference to the mythological ferryman of souls. This ominous name comes from a message the EI broadcasted through all human military channels in Paradiso as a presentation of its new favorite war toys. A fittingly unsettling display of technological superiority.

THORAKITAI: €27.95

Thorakitai Infinity

Box with:

  • 1x THORAKITES (Feuerbach)
  • 1x THORAKITES (Submachine gun)
  • 1x THORAKITES (Combi Rifle)
  • 1x THORAKITES (HMG)

The Thorakitai (Thorakites in singular), are the base infantry of the Assault Sub-section. If the Myrmidons are the vanguard force, the wave that breaks the enemy front, the Thorakitai are the tide that comes afterwards giving support to the action, securing the terrain, sweeping away the enemy and consolidating positions. Even loaded with the armor and protective measures that give it its name (Thorakitai: “Cuirassiers”) and links them with the heavy troops of the phalanxes of antiquity, they are a mobile unit ready to defend the rearguard and valuable supply lines, but one that can also adopt more aggressive roles by leading front line offensive actions.

If the Myrmidons are the howling warriors of the Sub-section, the Thorakitai are the silent bad boys that know how to wait for their chance to prove that they are full-fledged members of the Steel Phalanx, born for war and baptized in blood.

3RD HIGHLANDER GREY RIFLES (HMG)€27.95

3rd-highlander-grey-rifles-hmg Infinity

Blister with: 1x HIGHLANDER GREY (AP HMG)

“Nemo Me Impune Lacessit” (Nobody provokes me with impunity). Historical regimental motto of the Third Grey Rifles.

3rd Highlander Grey Rifles is an infantry regiment of Scottish origin that can trace its history back to Waterloo. And many will say that their members have not changed since those times… Specialists in assault operations and close combat, the boys of the Third have the disagreeable custom of grunting between their teeth when, in the middle of the battle, their orders force them to hold positions without allowing them to advance towards the enemy. Boasting its tradition as a strike force, the Highlanders can be brutal to the core, distinguished by their characteristic stubbornness and firmness. All the members of the Third have sworn the same: Death to the enemy! And it is not an oath that can be taken lightly, because the Grey Rifles are a class of men capable of passing through Hell to settle a score. The steel of their gaze, as grey as their armor, has been forged from fury and tempered with experience in combat. That grey can be the last thing that you see in your life.
