Get ready for a Quantum Storm that the Empire won’t see coming! The humble GR-75 is packing some expert slicers this time around to hack those Star Destroyers.
A new way to take the fight to the Empire is without any guns at all! The humble GR-75 Transports sports no weaponry, but it has other ways of dealing with Imperial Star Destroyers.
Slicer Tools is a Fleet Support upgrade that can really mess with Imperial commands. After your Transport executes a maneuver, you may exhaust Slicer Tools to choose an enemy ship at distance 1-3 and choose a new command on its top command dial. This can ruin the carefully laid plans of a Demolisher that wishes it could Navigate, but is stuck with a Squadron Command with none in range. Slicer Tools timed at just the right time could prevent that Quasar from activating 6 squadrons to prevent an alpha strike!
Since Slicer Tools triggers after a maneuver, Quantum Storm is here to give added threat range. As a Navigate Command, the Quantum Storm title allows you to exhaust it to perform another speed 1 maneuver after you execute a maneuver. This can give you extended reach to Slice the right ship at the right time.
While your enemy is trying to deal with Slicer Tools, you can close in with a group of Hammerhead Scouts. This ship may not seem like much compared to a CR-90, but the its strengths lie in its upgrade options.
Since the Hammerhead Scout has a strong forward arc, Slaved Turrets is a great option to keep your points low. Since you only will most likely get only one shot with them anyway, the restriction of attacking only 1 ship per activation is not that bad. What it does give you is an extra red die to add to your attack pool. 4 red dice at long range (with Concentrate Fire) can add up to serious damage. Although red dice can be fickle, Task Force Organa is here to mitigate that!
Task Force Organa is a title card that helps you re-roll your attack dice. While attacking, you may exhaust another copy of this card on a friendly ship at distance 1-3 to re-roll up to 2 attack dice.
This trick is that once this card is exhausted, you cannot attack ships. One of your Hammerheads will have to start the attack chain without an exhaust to prevent this drawback, or you could exhaust TFO on a Hammerhead that is not in range to attack yet.
Either way, these little ships can pack a serious punch combined with the Quantum Storm slicing and dicing Star Destroyers!
