Leia Organa is ready to use whatever tactics she can muster to defeat the Empire, even if it means getting ruthless and sacrificing her troops for the cause!
As a fleet commander, Leia Organa favors ships that are smaller and have fewer commands to take advantage of her ability. Whenever a friendly ship resolves a command by spending its command dial, it may resolve that command as if it had spent a matching command token.
This gets more bang from your command buck by being able to squeak out some extra command usage from your ships. The workhorse Corvettes of the Rebel Alliance will be the center-point of this fleet.
The CR90A is a fantastic ship for Commander Leia. Their super fast navigation chart and red dice can keep engagements at long range, a place where it excels defensively with redundant Evade tokens.
With Leia’s ability, a CR90A can reveal a navigate, and boost itself in speed by 2 and have 1 extra yaw, or reveal a concentrate fire to throw 3 red dice with a reroll. Another great command to use for these ships that don’t normally see play is as a squadron pusher.
With a base squadron value of 1, a CR90A can push 2 squadrons with Leia in charge. These squadrons can be Y-Wings, which love to go after the big, lumbering Imperial ships. Y-Wings can also defend themselves if they need to fight through an enemy squadron presence but will need help with flak from other ships.
Hammerhead Scouts are another great choice in a Leia fleet for their hardiness and a battery suite that mirrors the CR90A. Keep the Hammerheads near your Y-Wings to provide flak coverage against enemy TIE Fighters and Sloane Aces and your ships will make it out alive.
A single blue flak attack against enemy squadrons might not seem like much, but once you get ruthless you can take them down!
Able to equip a weapons team, the Hammerhead Scouts can use Ruthless Strategists to take down the elusive Imperial Aces. After attacking a squadron, you may deal 1 damage to a friendly squadron engaged with the defender to force it to suffer 1 damage.
Since the Y-Wings have a healthy 6 hull, they won’t mind taking the ping damage to deal an extra, unavoidable damage to those Sloane Aces. Use whatever ruthless tactics you can with the Rebel fleet to defeat the Empire in Star Wars Armada!
