The Pelta is quite the formidable command ship in Armada, but with the right upgrades it can be a deadly ship all on its own!
The Pelta Assault Ship is blasting through the Imperial blockade in Armada. This small based ship may not look like much, but it can pack a serious punch once it gets within range. Its evade will keep it safe at longer ranges, and once the fighting gets close, its redirect and brace will be crucial to its survival. Its red dice can perform small attacks at long range, and its black dice can be used once the fighting gets close.: perfect for this small scrappy ship!
Raymus Antilles will be on board this Pelta, giving out free tokens with each activation. When you reveal a command, you may gain a matching command token without spending your dial. This can help the Pelta with navigation or even with concentrating fire commands. Whatever command you choose, you’ll get to double up with Raymus!
Since the Pelta is currently the only Rebel ship with the fleet command upgrade slot, it pays to invest in these upgrades when you can. Intensify Firepower is a great upgrade to boost your Pelta, and ultimately your Rebel fleet. At the start of the Ship phase, you may discard this card or spend a concentrate fire command token to change 1 attack die to a hit whenever a friendly ship performs an attack. This can help keep your red dice consistent, and with Raymus on board, you’ll have your concentrate fire token ready to go.
If you go the navigational route, Engine Techs will serve the Pelta well. With a maneuver diagram that maxes out at speed 2, gaining another speed 1 movement, for the cost of a navigate token or command, can get the Pelta into close range with the bigger Imperial ships. This can help it bring its ordnance payload to bear!
Once you are in close range with the Pelta, reveal your concentrate fire command to blast those Imperials with black dice. Advanced Proton Torpedoes will help you punch through shields and give your enemies free critical damage! With only 2 black dice and 1 black die in its forward and side batteries, APTs will be the perfect upgrade to sneak damage through shields.
