Will We See Orks at Tomorrow’s GW Toy Fair 2020 Preview?

Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka orks wal horHonestly probably no. Lol but hey there is always a chance. Here’s what we saw last year at the New York Toy Fair and some hints at what we may see again.

The New York Toy Fair is an annual event where game companies from all over gather under one spot to preview some of the releases that’ll be hitting stores around the holidays.  The 2020 Toy Fair is almost here and we should be seeing official previews on GW’s next products that will be hitting stores like Barnes & Noble and possibly Target again soon.

As we wait for February 22nd, 2020 to roll around, here are some of the things we saw last year.

Key note: don’t expect anything like Ghazghkull to be revealed at an event like this. This is more of a beginner/ board game project-style event for GW.

But board games and license items like maybe new Funko POPS! may be more like what we will see again tomorrow.

Speaking of which, here’s what we saw last year.

2019 Toy Fair’s Reveals

toyfair walThanks to a hobbyist on our Spikey Bits Hobbies Facebook Group, we have some first-hand pictures of the minis found inside Combat Arena.

Combat Arena Boardgame

combat arena

combat arena 1Combat Arena is actually a prequel to the events at Blackstone Fortress. The setting of the game takes place in an Imperial ship where you can grab a few of your friends and duke it out between the fighters you choose. But what kind of models were found inside the game? Well, sculpts of a Crusader, a Primaris Psyker, and even a new Rogue Trader model!

Vinyl Funko POP 40k Models

Thanks to the same hobbyist at the event, we also saw Funko POP! Space Marines first-hand.

funko pop1

funko pop marinesFunko POP! 40k Space Marines were another part of the models spotted at the Toy Fair event. These guys were the first batch of the Funko POP! 40k series while later on, we saw the release of a blank slate Marine where hobbyists could paint them up into any Chapter/Legion they liked.

Going off of some of last year’s most popular GW releases, these should serve as loose pointers as to what we might expect to see in 2020. We may see another Box Set roll around with some ETB characters and a play mode designed to get players started right out of the box. Who knows, we could even see some Funko POP! Xenos as well! -These are all just loose guesses. Nothing based on any rumor reports.

Be sure to check back with us for a full break down of what gets previewed as soon as GW pulls the curtain back on the 22nd!

What would you like to see revealed at Toy Fair 2020? Have you played any of GW’s side release boxed games like Combat Arena? Did you get your own Funko POP! Space Marine and paint him up to your custom Chapter?
