New Space Wolves, Deathwatch, and Imperial Armour FAQs have dropped! Check out what’s been changed, updated, and what’s been clarified.
Today on Warhammer Community they dropped 3 FAQs for 40k and a few for their board games. The Space Wolves and Deathwatch Codexes have been out for a few weeks now, so that means it’s time for some FAQs. They focus on how the Deathwatch teams are made, points, and how certain attacks work. For the Imperial Armour Compendium, it answers questions about all the datasheet questions. Since there were 222 entries, it has a ton to cover.
New Space Wolves Deathwatch & Imperial Armour FAQs:
Let’s start with the Space Wolves (it’s much smaller than the Death Watch) and go on from there:
Some simple rules clarifications here. The wording on the Crushing Teeth and Claws was very hard to understand, so we’re glad to see that one. However, on their Facebook, there are still a bunch of people wishing more was in here. Especially concerning their doctrines and how they interact. Maybe soon we’ll get some more clarification on that. And there are still some datasheets that are funky and unfixed, so we may see another update coming for them soon.
DeathWatch FAQ:
This one is far more extensive than the Space Wolves one! The main focus though was how the teams worked, points, and some wargear. Basically, every type of Kill Team got some kind of rewording. Hopefully, for those out there confused on the teams, this will clear it up some. There are also tons and tons of points changes, so if you are making lists you should really read this over and make sure the numbers are matching up.
They also changed or updated a bunch of the Power Levels but not too many people use those, so not quite as important as the points changes. The main issue people had with this is that Captains still do not get access to Deathwatch Boltguns or Deathwatch Combi Weapons. But maybe GW wants it that way and they never will.
Imperial Armour FAQ
With the Compendium having so many units, this is quite a big FAQ.
There is a ton of stuff in this one, including a new datasheet. There are dozens of sheets that got updates and clarification. One really nice thing is being able to change the keyword on units to either Tzeentch or Nurgle. This allows you to actually use them in your army and actually be able to have a Battle-forged army. Lastly, they threw in a new datasheet for the Chaos Vindicator Destroyer, which is always nice to see some more units thrown in.
While there are a lot of updates, there are still some things people are very confused about. But, maybe we’ll have another FAQ for that stuff soon. If you want to have these for yourself, you can download them here.
Did these clarifications help? Are there some rules you wish were clarified but weren’t?
