The Norsehammer Open happened over the weekend with some “interesting” 40k army lists taking the top spots!
The tournament is over and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these winners brought in their armies.
Norsehammer Open 2022: Top 40k Armies
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
3rd Place: Dawid Komorowski – Tau
3rd Place: Pawel Czyszczon – Custodes
1st Place: Rasmus Valand Fredriksen – Tau
Rasmus’ Tau was a single battalion list led by a Cadre Fireblade, Commander Farsight, and a Coldstar Commander. The Cadre helps out nearby core units by making 6s to hit score a bonus hit and for 50 points that’s an easy include.
Farsight is great because he is one of only a few good tau melee units, while also have some great support abilities for nearby Farsight models. The Coldstar is great because it is simply just a great ranged threat that also happens to have fantastic mobility.
Troops bring in 27 Breacher Fire Warriors which can benefit from both the Farsight auras and the Cadre Fireblade bonus hits rule. Of course they can also sit on objectives too!
Elites start off with a 6 man Crisis suit squad running triple Projectors on all of them for maximum chaff clearing. There is also 3 Stealth Suits to add in a few more shots with their burst cannons.
Fast Attacks Bring in 8 Marker Drones, which thanks to the new rules are great because you need to constantly re-apply markerlights over the course of the game.
Heavy Support brings in 3 Hammerhead Gunships, which are still great tanks and offer some decently durable ranged weapon platforms with good anti-armor shots.
Finally closing out the list are 3 devilfish, which can help out by transporting the 3 Breacher teams up the board and hopefully prevent them from dying too early in the game.
