New CSM & GSC Combat Patrol: Value & Pricing Breakdown

chaos-combat-patrol-value-price-worth 1The Chaos Space Marines and Genestealer Cults Combat Patrol box sets have arrived- here is the pricing and value breakdown inside!

It feels like two full decades since the GSC box was announced, so it’s nice to finally see it hit shelves, then the Chaos one didn’t have quite the buildup, but we’re still happy to see it coming out!

Combat Patrol Box Sets like the Chaos Space Marines are mostly designed for new players to the factions, just like the current Start Collecting Sets that GW introduced back in 2016. They are being marketed as a quick way to get a small force on the table and play some small games right away.

Most times, the starter-style kits are a pretty good value, so even if you have some Chaos Space Marines or Genestealer cults already, the breakdown inside these combat patrol box sets could be a decent value for you.

New Chaos Space Marines Combat Patrol: Price & Value Breakdown

Chaos Combat PatrolOne quick thing to note as well, they haven’t released the price for this, but we’re hoping and assuming they will keep it at the $150 price tag from the February 2022 price increases.

Honestly, though, the box has a decent mix of units inside that should be a good kicking-off point for new players. Plus, when you compare it to something like the recent Thousand Sons box, it seems to be a better force to actually build an army around.

Let’s check out the value!

  • 10 Legionaries $60
  • Dark Apostle & Disciples $38
  • 5 Havocs $60
  • Hellbrute $60

Total MSRP:$218

Chaos Space Marines Combat Patrol Box Set Retail Price $150 (most likely)

Savings Versus $150 Box Price: $68

Is the Chaos Space Marines Combat Patrol Worth it?

Chaos Combat Patrol 2The value on this is basically identical to the Thousands Sons box, but there are better units inside. Instead of tons of Tzaangors, there are much more usable units. So, if you’re just starting out an army, this will give you a bunch of decent units.

Following on from the events of Shadow Throne, the perfidious Genestealer Cultists and the Talons of the Emperor are mustering Combat Patrols to continue their respective missions across the Imperium. You’ll be able to prepare for these campaigns with Codex: Adeptus Custodes and Codex: Genestealer Cults, which are both packed full of thematic rules like devastating crossfire, and peerless battle stances.

Overall of all the Combat Patrol Boxes, the new Genestealer Cults is a pretty good value in terms of both pricing and selection of models. Let’s check out what this will save you:

    • 20x Neophyte Hybrids: $100
    • Magus: $32
    • Goliath Rockgrinder: $60
    • Aberrants: $42
    • Acolyte Hybrids: $42

    Total Value: $276

Savings Versus $150 Box Price: $126

Is The Genestealer Cults Combat Patrol Worth It?

    Codex Genestealer Cults

This has a really good value compared to most of the Combat Patrols we’ve seen. So if you play Genestealer Cults, then this Combat Patrol box is a great pick-up as it has some useful starter units inside.

If you need the models, it saves you a decent amount of cash and will get you a lot of minis for fairly cheap.

Some of those are super spicy for sure, and some are not. Either way, we know new Chaos Space Marines are on the way. Check out all the pages of the new Chaos Space Marine Codex rumors above!
