New Reveals For Warhammer 40k & AoS at Warhammer World Open Day
An unannounced 5 am preview on a Saturday morning here in the states, crowds looked sparse in this header image from Warhammer Community.
New Hedoites of Slaanesh Age of Sigmar Releases & Lord of Hubris
The Dark Prince Slaanesh remains incarcerated in the twilight non-realm of Uhl-Gysh, though his mortal legions continue to try and free him with all their might and guile.
Now, an arrogant new hero has deigned to join the quest, strutting into battle and daring anyone who thinks they’re skilled enough to take him on in single combat.
These master duellists make a flamboyant beeline for the enemy’s finest, aiming to goad them into personal combat with their arms spread, heads cocked, and a knowing sneer on their faces – but doom awaits those foolish enough to challenge the favoured of Slaanesh.
You can feel the cockiness of this model through its new stance; this model sends a message to your opponent that, like the Lord of Hubris, you are not worried about them.
So confident is the Lord of Hubris in his skills that he’ll even let his foes make the first attack, granting an enemy unit the chance to strike first in that combat phase. As a result, enemies will focus solely on this swaggering swashbuckler, whose 4+ ward will deflect any incoming onslaught.
You’ll be able to find rules for this preening panjandrum in the forthcoming Battletome: Hedonites of Slaanesh. This is your complete guide to a violent parade of debauchery across the Mortal Realms.
So the two Chaos books of the six new battletomes releasing before summer are now revealed, with the Hedonites of Slaanesh and Blades of Khorne getting their 3.0 update!
Released alongside, Vanguard: Hedonites of Slaanesh provides you with all the tools you need to whittle away at the bonds that bind the God of Excess, with a spellcasting Shardspeaker of Slaanesh, three Slaangor Fiendbloods, 10 Blissbarb Archers and their Homonculus companion, and five Slickblade Seekers who can alternatively be built as Blissbarb Seekers.
New Age of Sigmar Blades of Khorne & Realmgore Ritualists
Also revealed at Warhammer World Open Day was the new Realmgore Ritualists, along with two new releases for the Blades of Khorne.
Realmgore Ritualists conduct these sacred blood rites of Khorne, spilling oceans of ichor as they slit the throats of countless prisoners and etch vile markings into the earth to glorify their ravenous god.
This model oozes gravitas and should send your opponents reeling. The detail is fantastic and really sells the ritualistic nature of the Blades of Khorne.
Once per battle, the Realmgore Ritualist can carve blazing runes into terrain, causing scalding realm-blood to erupt as the land itself contorts in agony. This cursed blood rain drives Bloodbound units within 8” into an incandescent frenzy.
Followers of Khorne will understand that none of this is even tangentially thaumaturgical, and you won’t find a scintilla of sorcery in Battletome: Blades of Khorne. You will however get a full complement of prayers – benedictions from the Blood God that are, once again, not spells even remotely.
A Realmgore Ritualist is only as good, however, as the warriors, they can shower in crimson gore, which is where Vanguard: Blades of Khorne comes in. This congregation of carnage contains10 Bloodreavers,10 Blood Warriors, three Mighty Skullcrushers, and a sermon-spitting Slaughterpriest.
Vanguards are now clocking in at $140, but from the looks of it, there will be some value in this new box if you are looking to rage with the best of them!
This is a big box of minis and gives you everything you need to make the new Ritualist a game-changer on the field!
