We’ve heard rumors that the Lion will be returning for a long time now, and GW has left plenty of lore open for it to happen. Now rumors are saying the road to 10th Edition will have four big character releases from the Imperium, Chaos, and even some Xenos!

Games Workshop Ships New Primaris Dante Model To Customer On Accident: (March 15th, 2023)
A deleted post on Facebook has kicked off Warhammer 40k 10th Edition mania just ahead of the Adepticon 2023 Games Workshop Previews.
The image on the left, posted below, even shows an invoice from the shipment behind the box.
Additionally, we’ve heard rumors about Dante getting the Primaris treatment for some time, and since he’s a clear fan favorite, it makes perfect sense! We’ll cover more on that below, but let’s take a second to look at the model itself that this hobbyist already painted up before leaking it to the world.
Staying pretty close to the box art, the only real differences are some trim and the lightning axe handle, which they did a really great job on too. Plenty of people in the comments thought it would be too challenging for them to paint, but this hobbyist took their time and got it done well.
We also got a slightly fuzzy look at his back, making a full 360 of the model visible, leaving almost nothing to the imagination. Plus, the fact that he’s flying lends weight to all the Primaris Assault Marines with Jump Pack rumors we’d say.

Of course, we can all take a moment to appreciate the GW model quality as usual since this guy is another home run from the design department. Fans will definitely be pleased with his release from the model standpoint.
But that is not all, as we have plenty of rumors about the venerable Commander Dante to re-examine below now!
RUMORS: Commander Dante & 4 New HQ Models For Warhammer 40k
The latest rumors are from Chapter Master Valrak and mention four new HQ models coming in 2023!
First off, Valrak had this to say in his forum post:
Hello everyone, you may have already seen my video on the subject but thought I’d share it here as well. Hearing that next year leading up the launch of the new Edition are going to be some pretty big HQ reveals. Listed them below:

- Dante
- Azrael
- Farsight
- Named Daemon Prince
And the edition is then supposed to wrap up with the return of the Lion. Again, take them for what they are, as I always say, just because I trust the source doesn’t mean you have to. I’ve inlcluded a link to the video in case you wanted more info on the rumoured book series and the models. Have a good one
So Commander Dante, Azrael, Farsight, and a new named Daemon Prince model that we assume is Vashtorr? That’s a strong list that will get fans all Warhammer 40k factions hype once they roll around (if the rumors turn out to be true)! Azrael is the most outdated of the three updates, so hopefully, his is first.
Commander Dante and Farsight are both super important characters, but their models are decent, so this might mean they are getting overhauls/resizing IE Dante becoming Primaris!
Then again, these are just RUMORs, so try not to get too attached. With that in mind, let’s check out some old Rumors that also had 10th Edition 40k in their crosshairs.

10th Ed starters feature Blood Angels and Tyranids:
– new “primaris” terminators; jump death company; captain; sanguinary priest

Blood Angels faction release:
– Sanguinor (Primarch / avatar of sanguinius), lots of cherubs
– Dante (model has been ready since 2019)
– Death Company chaplain

– Upgrade sprue
Tyranids:
– Macrofex
– Old One Eye (macrofex size)
– Hypergant swarms (105mm base)
– New genestealers
– New hormaguants
The big takeaway is that a major Space Marines release may have been pushed back to early 2023 from previous rumors of fall of 2022. Perhaps the smaller chapter supplements could release first in the fall to drum up hype, then the main 2.0 book could drop along with the rumored new model releases we have seen some images for already.
A new starter pitting Blood Angels vs. Tyranids again, like the 2014 shield of Baal Deathstorm set (25 miniatures for $125), would be pretty cool to see. We’re sure Tyranids players would also gobble up new Genestealer models.
Connecting It All Back To The 4 New HQ Rumors
So what does it all have to do with the new rumors?
All these contribute by pointing to a Space Marine resurgence in 2022-23. The Lion’s return, a Blood Angel vs. Tyranid box, and the new 2.0 Space Marines codex all seemingly point towards a rekindling of hope in the Imperium.
Azrael and Lion bolstering their chapters. Commander Dante, along with a Blood Angels release in their battle box vs Tyranids, and even a sprinkle of Xenos in Farsight for Tau. A new Daemon Prince is easily on the table as World Eaters will drop soon along with their Primarch causing havoc across the universe.
That being said, it’s ALL rumors, so more likely than not, some of it won’t come to fruition, but hopefully, some of it does, as this all sounds great!
