The first free army builder app is here that works great for 10th Edition Warhammer 40k, and it’s just been updated with all the Forge World points!
While the official Games Workshop Wahrammer 40k app has launched, it’s nice to have a completely free solution out there for everyone! Plus, we’ve discussed the issues Battlescribe has been having, so it seems like an excellent time for a new 10th Edition Warhammer 40k army builder app to appear!
The new app is called Warhammer Units and it is pretty easy to use once you get how it works. It has also had a ton of updates already, which makes sense with all the new datasheets and rules drops at the beginning of 10th Edition.
So if something doesn’t seem right, they have a Discord to post feedback on for future updates. They updated the app quite quickly with all the new FW points, which bodes well for the future, as you can expect it to be constantly updated!
Updated Alternative & Free 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Builder
Tom Hewitt designed the app and is still working on more fixes/improvements like the ones pictured above. Obviously, adding the Forge World points is a big thing, but it’s nice to see him adding units, fixing abilities, and points. So again, if you see something wrong, you can let them know, and they will fix it quickly.
As you can see, they have the points for the Forge World units as well as the regular ones from Dark Eldar.
Not only did they add all the points, but they also added all the rules, meaning you can easily reference everything in your army.
However, before you go too crazy talking about changes, these are things that have already been requested that they are also currently working on.
Building a 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Army List With Warhammer Units
Now, let’s look at building a list using the site.
First, you select your army, and a drop-down will display all the units in that army.
Then, you start picking what units and characters you want in the list, and with how the new points work, it just goes up by the correct number of models.. You just hit the plus or minus button, and they are displayed in the correct quantity; super simple.
Next up, they also have the numbers set correctly in the app, meaning you can’t take more of a certain unit than allowed; it just stops you from doing it, meaning no errors; it just doesn’t let you do it.
Then, when you have all your units selected, you hit the show selected units only button on the top, and it shows your points and everything included in the army. And boom, you have your army ready to go! The only thing really missing right now is enhancements, but they are working on that.
As we said, they also have all the stratagems in there; you simply pick your army and then pick what stratagem you want to use.
So hopefully, soon, you can use this as your one-stop shop for rules and list-building that is totally free!
