GW Reveals the Space Marine Company Heroes & Chaplain Sprues & Bits!

The new Space Marine Company Heroes and Chaplain sprues come from Warhammer Community.

Space Marine Company Heroes

This is a new squad option for Space Marine armies, comprising veteran warriors who serve as a kind of honour guard for your commanding officers. As we discovered in our interview with the miniatures designers on Monday, each of the heroes is an exemplar of one of the three doctrines – assault, tactical, and devastator – accompanied by a dapper Company Ancient and a Captain striking a noble pose.

You’ve got a little something for everyone in the squad and a decent number of options to build these unique characters too!

Every member of the squad has alternate head options – with or without helmets. The Ancient has a bolt pistol, a bolt rifle, and a close combat weapon, while the Company Champion has a bolt pistol and master-crafted power weapon.

The banner looks really good, and there are a ton of heads for these minis too. However, depending on the model, ther may not be as many weapon options available.

Space Marine Sprues

One of the Company Veterans has a bolt pistol, master-crafted bolt rifle, and close combat weapon, while the other carries the same two small arms with a master-crafted heavy bolter. There’s a high degree of interchangeability across the rest of the range, should you wish to switch arms, heads, and accessories for even more variety or personalisation.

There are a decent number of options, but from the sounds of it, if you have extra bits lying around, you can use them to further convert this kit.

Chaplain in Terminator Armour

This chunky churchman has the choice of two heads – one in the classic “full skull-helmet” mode, and the other a half-face with a respirator. He has two choices of head for his crozius, and can exchange his storm bolter for a relic shield.

It’s always nice to have the option to go helmetless, while you should be able to throw other Terminator heads on there.

Both kits are up for pre-order this weekend, alongside many more awesome Space Marine releases (the new codex, for instance. You’re gonna need that). Remember, there’s a two-week pre-order period in effect, so you’ll receive your loot in mid-October.

Overall, the new Space Marines releases are looking good, and should mesh well with both the Leviathan and regular multi-part models from the existing line!
