Time to save a bundle with GW’s Christmas Battleforces. Plus new 40k rules for Blood Angels, Tyranids, and Mephiston in Faith & Fury!
Multiple retailers have already confirmed what’s next for GW’s release lineup. From Battleforces to other hobby goodness, be sure to check out what you want to spend your hobby $$$ on.
Blood Angels Crimson Spear Strike Force $185
This Box Set isn’t horrible. It’s got some nice units that you’ll be using in almost every Blood Angels list aside from maybe the Terminator Captain and Baal Predator. But it gives you three very nice building blocks to work off of. (Death Company, Sanguinary Guard, and Intercessors).
Space Wolves Talons of Morkai $170
Again, you get some nice units here. Intercessors are always a commodity as well as some Wulfen, which have proven themselves time and time again as being a Space Wolf top unit!
Chaos Space Marines Vengeance Warband $170
Chaos Marines are getting a helping hand here as well. This covers the basics to any Chaos force. Grabbing this box opens you up to a bunch of paths you might want to consider beyond this initial purchase. You could grab more Havocs, more Termies, or go for fatty squads of Chaos Marines.
Tau Empire Starclaimer Hunter Cadre $170
Tau are showing off their firepower in this Box Set as well. While some units (like Fire Warriors) are more used than others in this box (Crisis Suits), there is still some great value to be had. Especially for a brand new player.
Tyranids Bioswarm $185
With all the Psychic Awakening hotness inbound with Blood of Baal, this Box might be looking even better in the days ahead. Depending on what’s in the book exactly. However, it’s safe to say you get plenty of models to camp objectives!
Drukhari Poisonblade Raiding Party $185
This list is mainly geared toward starting you off with a very strong Battalion. You’ll just need another HQ after this and really, you’ve got the entire faction’s arsenal of units at your disposal to pick up. This is probably one of the best boxes we’ve seen in terms of playability.
Skaven Corrupting War-Swarm $200
Giving you plenty of rats, as any Skaven army should have, you’ll still want more. Whether you want more Plaguerats or Clanrats, you can decide where you want your list to go. As for the other units, they’re all very useful in the army and is another great buy.
Nighthaunt Court of the Craven King $185
Once again, the Nighthaunt are bringing plenty of models to the table so be sure when you grab this to get some way to store the minis. Nighthaunt are notoriously spindly!
Gloomspite Gitz Caveshroom Loonz $185
This is one of the most awkward Battleforces we’ve seen. As the Loonmasha Fanatics-build can’t technically be played unless you have a unit of Stabbas/Shoots (which the box doesn’t come with). On top of that you get a Loonboss on foot that doesn’t synergize with the rest of the force. Really, it’s a solid building block if you have another $300 to throw at the army. But in terms of playability out of the box, it’s a bit rough.
Stormcast Eternals Exorcism Soulstrike $185
And of course, it wouldn’t be a true AoS release without the Stormcast Eternals having their hand int he business. Stormcast are getting a bundle of most of their newest models all wrapped in one packaging.
Mephiston: Lord of Death $40
Mephiston’s new Primaris version is coming in hot at $40 a pop with a bonus wound and attack over his normal profile. This resculpt was much needed and a perfect time to bring it in with Blood of Baal
40k 2019 Chapter Approved (SB) $35
Bringing all the points changes and other rewritings at the end of the year, the 2019 edition is coming packed with streamlined updates and this will (hopefully) stay relevant longer than the life expectancy of a codex after its first release.
Kill Team Annual 2019 $35
his rules supplement is like Chapter Approved, but for Kill Team, bringing together points updates, content previously only printed in White Dwarf and brand-new rules for another great year of skirmish gaming.
Psychic Awakening: Blood of Baal $40
Blood of Baal is bringing new rules to two factions as they go head-to-head in this campaign/lore advancement! Get ready for Blood Angels and Tyranids to pick up speed!
Adeptus Titanicus Knight Battleforce $130
Titanicus is also getting its own holiday Battleforce with a box being loaded to the brim with Household Knights. Two Porphyrions, some Cerastus, and a bunch of Questoris is an awesome building block to go off of if you want to swarm the board with a ton of smaller models.
